My hopes for attending Rutgers University is to enhance my passion to learn and challenge myself, both personally and academically. In my past two years at the College of Charleston, I found myself wanting a more rigorous academic curriculum. Rutgers has so much to offer, and I am confident I will be able to achieve my my career and personal goals if I am accepted.
Attending Rutgers University will give me the opportunity to achieve my career goals through a high quality education recognized worldwide. It is the only public New Jersey university in the Association of American Universities (AAU), so I know I will receive the demanding workload I am in search for. Communications is my selected major, and I am certain Rutgers will provide me

Although I am not certain with a specific career, a communications degree will prepare me for a wide range of jobs because communication serves as the backbone for any organization. The major requirements along with the four specialization options at Rutgers, will offer me knowledge on a variety of different areas within communications. I will be able to explore my interests while receiving an excellent education. I think it is amazing that I can combine more than one specialization to extend my career options even further. The specific courses at Rutgers such as Communication and Technology, Organization Communication, and Persuasive Communication will assist me with the skills I need to succeed in this rapidly changing, digital world. To benefit myself and my education, I am definitely going to take advantage of everything Rutgers has to offer. I am interested in joining The Association for Women in Communications as well as the Public Relations Student Society of American- both organizations sponsored by the Department of Communications. Diversity is one of Rutgers greatest strengths, and I hope I can immerse myself into the many cultures at the university. I want to remove myself from my current familiar situation, and surround myself with a more diverse community. I currently attend a college where 80.2% of the student population is white. I walk around the College of Charleston, and everyone looks and dresses the same. I think it is important to recognize, value and respect other cultures to grow as a person, and I know I will have the opportunity to do so if I get accepted. According to the Rutgers diversity statistics of 2015-2016, only 41.5% of undergraduates are white, and the remainder are Asian, Hispanic, African American, and international students. With students from 63 countries, I will have the opportunity to interact with and learn about the experiences and perspectives of individuals and groups from many cultural backgrounds.
At Rutgers, I will have the opportunity to learn beyond the classroom. The Department of Student Involvement includes over 450 student organizations, something my current college lacks. I want to get involved in campus life to enhance my leadership skills and
I hope to leave NC State as a young adult who is ready and prepared to enter society with a determined mindset and hard work ethic. I believe that I will be perfectly capable of achieving my goals and and aspirations as an NC graduate, and will graduate with the experience to take on challenges that may await me in a future career. Although I am still unsure of my desired field of study, I am confident that I will be able to discover a career path I will enjoy through the Exploratory Studies college. I am excited to enroll as an undergraduate student at NC State, and look forward to the opportunities ahead of me in the college of Exploratory
Working at Steel Pier has still got me going back for a new season every year; because I love the fact that I get a chance to bond with so many people who travel to the United States from the other side of the globe just to work. Rutgers is the same, but rather than working, students travel from all over the world to study and attend school. Every summer, I meet new imports and willingly become such good friends with them that when it’s time to say our goodbyes and farewells, it makes me tear up a little. Over the years I have acquired the ambition to travel and potentially study abroad. I believe Rutgers will give me the comforting feeling that Steel Pier has given me for as far back as three years. Dipping myself in the melting pot known as Rutgers University, will allow me to grow as an individual as I learn from my peers, while working towards a
I applied to UNC Asheville specifically because of its’ distinction as the designated state sponsored liberal arts university. In high school, the areas of study were limited and the course curriculums narrow. I expect a very different experience from my college education. The world is changing rapidly and I am not interested in a specializing in a focused course curriculum to fit into a slot that may not be available by the time I enter the job market. Knowing that I am not ready to concentrate my education in a specific direction is one of the main reasons I applied to UNC Asheville. During Governor’s School, I experienced a taste of the diversity offered by an Arts education and loved it. I am hoping to attend UNC Asheville and continue that experience. I am looking for college to challenge me, broaden my knowledge, and develop my ability to think for myself. I am excited about becoming part of an
Why do I want to go to Brophy? It is quite simple actually, I want to go to Brophy because I believe the school and staff will give me the best chances of achieving my goals in life. Also, I want to go because when I attended the school during a shadow day I felt that I belonged there and that my personality fit right into what the school expects and wants in its students. Finally, I want to go to Brophy because I do not think that there is another high school in Arizona that is quite like it, from the school’s athletics to its academics and staff. In conclusion, I want to go to Brophy because the school is unique and matches my personality, giving me the best chances of going anywhere in life, while enjoying it.
Through the multiple visits to the University, I’ve notice an important aspect that makes this campus a unique place and that is its diversity. I want to learn from a diverse multitude of both people and staff. People that understand me and understands where I come from. People
I have always been intrigued by Rutgers University and all that it has to offer. After graduating highschool, I was unimpressed with my GPA and the work ethics I developed. At that moment, I decided that my next steps towards earning my degree would be to give it my all and put as much effort as possible towards education. After going to Brookdale, I wanted to challenge myself; attending Rutgers University is without a doubt the best way to do so. Rutgers University is unlike any other school. Not only is
As I have stated before, I have had no singular experience that has led me to the career choice of nursing. I had a natural inclination towards the profession, and as I pursued this inclination, I grew more and more passionate about nursing. Each day, I wholeheartedly put my determination to be a nurse into everything I do. Nursing is more than a career choice to me; it is a privilege for me to share my compassion with human beings. Stony Brook University School of Nursing will allow me to receive the best education, allowing me to impact others in the most profound way possible.
Meanwhile, I would transfer to attend the University of Texas at Arlington. Once I start the school year, I am going to surround myself with young people, who are motivated, caring and determined, too successful in their academics as well as their personal lives. I want to strengthen my communication skills, study harder, and improve my time management skills. And maintain myself there to obtain my Bachelor Science Degree and can go deeper and higher level status in my career field. I choose to apply to this Honors Program, because I like to be challenged and I work hard for what I want to
Communication studies was a good pick for me because, although there is always room for improvement, I can still garnish some more knowledge and information to better improve my oral skills. My personality will really fit into the communication department. I have been told about how fun the communication department can be, and how outgoing people are in the department. I initially liked this a lot because I am very outgoing myself and love to talk to people. I feel that I can be able to exhibit concise messages to people, clearly and efficiently.
The United States is a country that celebrates numerous cultures and ethnic personalities. All the more, college campuses are better preparing students for the encounters and chances that await them in their future. Learning to live, study, and work in a diverse community is now a vital component in becoming a diverse individual/worker. Nevertheless, how should students recognize college campuses that aid diversity and multicultural experiences in a valuable way? Monmouth University has grown enormously over the preceding years. This has given rise to the concern of whether Monmouth has been able to handle this progress. This paper will help to acknowledge and address concerns relating to diversity on Monmouth University’s campus.
One might succinctly shows how oblivious the white students are on the issues of racism, lack of diversity, social and political. The underrepresented students are very conscious of the negative effect of segregation, discrimination, and racial tension, social and political inequality. While the underrepresented students tend to feel perplexed on these issues, the underrepresented faculty members on the other hand tend to feel incapacitated and not courageous to address these issues due to the fear of losing their job. To the contrary, some faculty members with tenure position were able to address these issues, provide a logical solution, and implore the institution to implement diversity in their curriculum. According to Karkouti, (2016) diversity has the power to create a friendly social environment that can allay the fear of racial tensions among students and can be used as an educational tool to enhance students’ learning and development. Lundy (2015) argues that in order to foster intercultural relationship on HBCUs and PWIs campus there should be desegregation not segregation. This means the PWIs student enrolment should include more African Americans and other non-Whites. In contrast, the HBCUs desegregation should increase the number of White students’ enrolment, despite the fact that HBCUs never had or display discriminatory admissions policies. In order to address some of the diversity issues in the U.S. higher education system, there is a need for assertive leaders who can logically create a serene cultural environment for students, faculty members and staff. He has to be versatile with the issues of diversity and must be able to implement effective strategies that will suit the students, faculty member and staff (Brown, 2017-class note). In doing so,
Barnard offers an abundant amount of experiences to it's students with over 80 different activities to an enriching study abroad program. The clubs I am interested in joining are Mujeres, The Hispanic Scholarship Fund, and Athens pre-law society. I am interested in volunteering and being active in Barnard's campus. While in Barnard,I
Rutgers University is a cultural diversed university in an urban area. The university has three campuses, Newark, New Brunswick and Camden. The curriculum design of the program in the field of nursing can lead to BSN, Masters, Post Masters, and Doctoral degree. The program-structured length is a four-year program for the undergraduate BSN. The studies are divided into sections that will coincide with the level of the nursing student program once accepted and enrolled. You’ve heard the advice before “get involved, join a club”, at the University of Montana (UM) we are a very large commuter college, involvement is a good way to develop relationships with other students and to create a sense of community for yourself and others.
There are many reasons why I want to take classes through Boston University this summer. I want to take classes so that I can better know whether Boston University is the right place for me to attend college, to help me me continue to practice my Chinese over the summer, and to help me discern the right choice of college major.
