Why I Chose To St. Louis University

I see myself living SLU’s Jesuit mission throughout my college experience and beyond in many ways. Education is very important to the Jesuits and also is to me. I plan on using my education to not only better myself, but also others. From a young age I have known how important the value of education is. I love going to school everyday because I know that I will be exposed to something new. Learning new things truly excites me. One of the reasons I choose to apply to St. Louis University was because of its Jesuit heritage, knowing how education is a top priority for the order. Education can be the saving grace that gets someone out of a bad situation or can even save their life. I am a very independent person and enjoy doing things for myself and not having to rely on others to do it instead. Going to SLU would be my next step in growing my education. I plan on majoring in Psychology and minoring in History, then going on to get my masters degree in Psychology as well. Once I have completed this course of study, I hope to study Law and become an Attorney. A lot of teenagers want nothing to do with additional years of school, but I want to be able to keep learning and developing my mind and thoughts.
