Liberty University is my dream school because of its solid Biblical foundation, opportunities for students, and excellent educational program. I have found all three of these qualities in my interaction with the university. I truly sense that Liberty wants what is best for its students both inside and outside of the classroom. In short, Liberty is my dream school because of its heart. The Honors Program at Liberty furthers my respect for Liberty by challenging its students and providing them with opportunities to succeed. Being accepted into the Liberty Honors Program would mean many things to me including preparing me for my future and giving me the chance to become a Champion for Christ. It would challenge and provide me with a close-knit Christian community, new growth opportunities, and a balance amidst the wide variety of new experiences. Being accepted into the Honors Program would further enable me to pursue and fulfill God’s purpose for my life. By being accepted into the Liberty Honors Program, I could better prepare myself for what my future holds. Choosing the right school is imperative today, especially because of our volatile economy which has limited the amount of jobs available to college graduates. By being accepted, I trust that I will be more than ready for the real world after I graduate. Currently, I am planning on majoring in English and minoring in Government with the goal of pursuing a career in law. I want to be a lawyer so that I may stand up for others in the daily battles of life. I am confident that my conscientious and compassionate personality will help me thrive as an attorney. Attending the University of Houston Law Center would afford me the opportunity to gain an education I know only they could offer. The University of Houston is a first-tier institution that constantly produces superior talent that continuously excels in all fields of law. Earning my degree of jurisprudence would be the crowning achievement in my life, but knowing that I couldn’t be able to use it effectively would be as equally disappointing. Coming full circle, I’d use my degree to make a difference for those privileged and those who aren’t alike. The realm of law is where I feel I belong and I’m eager to prove myself.
It is a tremendous honor to be considered for membership in the most prestigious Honor Society available at Wapato High School. It is even more grand to be able to work towards enrollment in the Society side by side with such an astoundingly gifted group of young men and women. Powerful diction, such as “strive to awaken,” “nurture,” and “seeking to draw,” shows passion as the predominant tone of the statement. The diction used is also easy to understand, but not so elementary to offend someone that has a broader vocabulary. Being inducted into the National Honors Society is what I have been waiting for. Becoming a member is nothing more than a dream come true, and I appreciate it greatly. If I am to be chosen as a member I know that I will be a positive and dependable participant in society activities. Due to my abilities and past experiences, I can be considered a valuable candidate because I demonstrate the qualities of leadership, service, and character. I do feel that if I am chosen, I will do nothing detract from the prestige and respectability that is associated with the society.
I have decided to apply to the UNCW Honors College because I believe that it will help further enhance my education. I believe that I will be pushed and encouraged to do my best in not only in academics but in my future endeavors as I search for a career as well.
If interested in attending college after high school, being accepted to a “dream” college or a college of interest could end up being one of the largest milestones in a person’s life. Being accepted to that college could change a person’s life forever however, on the other hand if acceptance to the university was denied; it could result in detrimental effects on a person’s life. Although being accepted into a person’s dream college may not the maximal point in their lives’, it could cause an array of different things to occur. They would then be faced with the challenge of making the decision to attend a different university. However, another situation may transpire such as that person not being accepted to any college that they apply to, or one that doesn’t supply the inspiration that was present prior to the application of their dream college being denied. In almost any circumstance of denial to a person’s college of choice, upshots could occur that have life-long effects on a person’s life which is something most future college students would rather not have to deal with. Being admitted to a certain college is an extremely delicate process which varies from university to university which creates an ideal atmosphere for denial to a certain college if certain aspects of the student’s admittance application do not meet the universities’ requirements for admission. This is where problems begin to rise in the collegiate academic system which could prevent some future college students from getting the education they desire and being forced to settle just because they scored poorly on a single test or struggled through high school for some reason or another. The Honors College at James Madison University offers specific and in-depth mentorship and classes to help the student understand their field of interest by working outside the school environment and working hands- on. The Honors College provides all the resources necessary to assist the students needs through this process. With all that this program is willing to provide, the student must be willing to dedicate themselves to the program. I believe that an important way to be sure of their dedication is through their high school career. An ideal student for this college should be one who has an active history throughout high school. When I think about my future I imagine a life full of success and accomplishment. I believe that The Clark Advanced Learning center will help to set me on my path towards reaching all of my goals and aspirations. I want to attend this school because of the learning environment and educational values it exemplifies. Also, I like how Clark is a small school and I think that it would be good for me to learn along-side other likeminded students that have a strong desire to learn and succeed. Hopefully I will be one of the students chosen to attend The Clark Advanced Learning Center during the next enrollment period.
First and foremost, I would like to say that it is a prominent honor to be a nominee for the National Honor Society. I am very appreciative in that I know this is a reward for all the hard work I have put in these past three years at Cliffside Park High School. I recall when I was an eighth grader I was confronted with a difficult decision; one that would determine where I would obtain the most crucial four years of education of my life. I was encouraged by my classmates and teachers to try out for the academies in the area. The academies are considered prestigious high schools and I rushed and scrambled to complete my application and obtain my recommendations. However, my guidance counselor pointed out something that made me think twice. He told me, “Where you go to school is not as important as you think. What are important are your willingness to excel and your commitment to learning and participating.” Until this day I still hold to my guidance counselor’s advice. I am proud and harbor no regrets whatsoever of the decision I made.
As an aspiring physician, one of my main reasons for joining the Honors College is to gain the best possible scientific education that I possibly can in my undergraduate years at Purdue. Through the Honors College, I would gain prioritized access to research opportunities and certain classes. With the prioritization to research opportunities, I would be capable of grasping scientific concepts in a real world environment, which is pivotal to my success in the medical field. However, I did not choose this college because it identifies as Lutheran. In fact, I was not entirely sure what made a Lutheran College different from any other college. I have found myself reading in the IS reader about the purpose of a Lutheran college. As Hanson put it, the purpose of Lutheran Colleges is “to plant deep within students a lifelong unquenchable curiosity about God, the meaning of life and being human, and the centrality of faith.” This did not fit with my original thoughts of a Lutheran College. Personally, I believe that the purpose of Lutheran universities is for people to discover their vocation. Previously, vocation was used exclusively to describe religion, but society today views it as the calling to serve one’s neighbors. This seems more fitting because it is not exclusive to only Lutheran Christians but to all students who study at the college. My goal is to discover my vocation here at Wartburg College. Along with that, I want to extend my knowledge about the Christian faith and deepen my understanding of the ideas within the Bible. Because I have doubted the Bible before, I want to look deeper into stories from if that have no logical scientific explanation such as Adam and Eve or Noah’s Ark.
