There are many ways to help improve your health today. Many diseases today could be prevented if we were to take a few precautions in things like changing our daily lifestyle. These lifestyle precautions include changes to your diet and amount of exercise you get everyday. Reports have shown that this could greatly lower you chances of disease. The World Health Organization (WHO) reports that 90-95% of most cancers cases is preventable. You can lower your chance of having disease by changing the factors that are known to cause it. Some of these factors include: environmental factors, smoking tobacco, high BMI, not getting enough exercise, high alcohol consumption, over exposure to sunlight, and not eating enough fruit and vegetables everyday (WHO, 2008). This organization has been a big impact in more than 2,700 locations in 10,000 different communities across America (YMCA, 2015). It has ma membership of more than 22 million people. Its YMCA’s first opening was in Europe around1851. Over the past 150 plus years, the YMCA has developed many different programs for youth and adults. It is reported that today there is more than 64 million households and 32 million children ages 14 and under live within three miles of a local YMCA (YMCA, 2015). The YMCA focuses on three different areas at the individual and community level. The first area of focus is Youth Development. This focus has developed different programs like camps, childcare, education programs, leadership, food programs, swim, sports, and play (YMCA, 2015).
