Abstract
With the new society and technology, there are many disadvantages. One that happens to be a very important is cyberbullying. Many bullies prefer to cyberbully because they can do it from the safety of their home and/or behind a computer screen. This is inhumane and wrong because to be bullied is to be stripped of your rights, and rather than in public, where someone can try and help, they do it from their homes. When someone is in a crisis mode, they may not know how to deal with it. Cyberbullying tends to push people into such hopelessness and depression which leads that person to believe that there is no way out. Words are very painful to certain people some more than others. There are documented cases where People have committed suicide because of cyberbullying acts. It may sound like just words but everyone copes with things differently and you never know what someone else is going through or what emotions those words can trigger. This makes the bullied individual's life miserable, as they cannot even find peace in their own homes or while on the internet. Additionally, name-calling, insults, spreading rumors and gossip, and circulating pictures are also forms of cyberbullying. Most teens would agree that pictures and videos are the most harmful (Hamm.P, M; Netwon.S, A; Chisholm, A; Shulhan, J; Milne, A; Sundar, P; Ennis, H; Scott.D, S; Harling, L, 2015). In Amanda Todd’s case, two methods of cyberbullying were used, through chat rooms, where the cyberbully had Amanda reveal her breasts to him, and through a Facebook website. She was also cyberbullied after she had posted the YouTube video when people called her a whore for agreeing to show a random person her boobs
