Communication

Humans have been communicating for thousands of years to each other and to nature around the world. In the movie Castaway communication is used many times and in many different ways to show the importance of it in everyday life and how it is needed. Communication is the imparting or exchanging of information or news. And in the movie there were three types of communication that were used the most and that was failed, non verbal and work communication. All of these things were used throughout the movie and the emphasized the importance of communication.

One of the uses of communication in Castaway was failed communication. And one way that this was used was when the Chuck wrote the help sign in the sand and the sign was supposed to let people see it from a distance so they would be aware of his presence on the island but it failed to notify other ships. Also another form of failed communication was when the receiver was unable to pick up the distressed called from the FedEx plane so this would be another example of failed communication. And finally there was also another failure to communicate because they weren't paying attention to the weather. …show more content…
