Kris Young was 25 when he was brought before the court on charges of theft. Kris was alleged to have tried to walk out of City Wear, a popular clothing store in Jurisville, without paying for a leather jacket costing $600. When stopped by the store manager, he tried to run away but was overpowered and handed over to the officers from JPD.Unable to make bail, Kris remained in custody for 60 days during which he pleaded guilty to theft. Based on the plea and the circumstances of the case, the judge sentenced Kris to a year in prison. Later the sentence was suspended and Kris was ordered to be under probation. The primary function of the ISP is to provide intense supervision of offenders under conditions established by the Juvenile Court. The ISP probation officers supervise a specialized caseload and work with the most serious violent offenders and chronic non-violent offenders (https://brgov.com/dept/juvenile/isp.htm). There are a lot of offenders that could participate in this program such as sex offenders, gang members, domestic violence adults, and etc. This program can help them make positive changes in their lives before its too late. A candidate that i would find perfect for this program is an alcoholic who beats on his families every time he gets drunk. There are many reasons why he would be a good candidate first has to do with the alcohol abuse. The program helps rehabilitate the offenders on staying clean if he stays clean his attitude and personality may change. Next is the abuse since he tends to get violent with his family he is tearing his family apart and putting fear into them. The program helps by closely monitoring probationers and help them establish relationships with there families and others. They get a better understanding for the offender and the families with the program also by stepping in. Now they have computers, tablets, garden areas and more. This is when it becomes a problem for us tax payers. Jail and prison is set up for individuals who commit crimes and have to deal with the consequences. They should not be provided with the same luxury as those who didn 't commit a crime. Some of them are receiving the luxury that people outside of prison/jail are not receiving. If anything we should be giving the schools tablets before the prisons. They should focus on things such as getting them more books, and counseling not things for entertainment.
