Like any organization, AutoZone creates performance evaluations daily, monthly, quarterly, and the annual reporting of the organizations performances are identified in what is known as SWOT analysis. This analysis refers to the strengths and weaknesses the company can address and the opportunities and threats that exist in the given market. The strength and weaknesses are the organizations ways of analyzing internal issues and exploiting strengths while the organization tries to address the weaknesses as it relates to competitors in the industry. Strengths The strengths for AutoZone are the revenues created from the 5,000 plus stores in the US, Mexico and Brazil, which gives management the chance to build on the past success that has given AutoZone the ability to create expansive revenues. AutoZone has had success in the past with their ability to keep orders filled and inventory well stocked, but with the purposed expansion of super hubs that would allow the drivers to fulfill orders three times daily as opposed to the current method that typically occurs daily as opposed to the potential of three times daily order fulfillment. Gas prices in my current city are $1.98 a gallon, giving many auto owners the desire to drive more with less acknowledgement of the cost of a trip, along with a much more commuter based economy, in 2009 census indicated workers on average took 25.1 minutes to get to work (Census.gov,2011) which shows people are willing to drive almost half an hour to work, some in heavy traffic which typically ensures a lot of stop and go driving which would induce high levels of wear and tear on a car.
