Conformity, the act of changing to fit in. Conformity can completely change a person whether it be their looks, such as their the way they dress, or their personality, like the way they act around certain people. In The Sociology of Leopard Man Logan Feys argues that being human has a right to it, and that right is to be who you are. Society pushes out certain people for not fitting in with everyone else, but also says that nobody should fit in, because everyone has a different personality. I have to agree with what he says in in the article. I feel that fitting in and conforming is what society expects everyone to do. So conforming is second nature to society. A great example of a non follower is leopard man. He is doing something totally out of the ordinary compared to everyone else. Its also a lot easier to follow and not lead which is also the main reason most people aren't leaders. It's like jumping on a train. It's a lot easier to just jump on and ride instead of driving the train. I think people should stop following and start leading. Another point I agree with is that it's a lot easier to just fit in and not lead the train and being yourself. I personally know from experience. Growing up I always tried to conform just to fit in with the people that surrounded me. It's not just me that i've seen conform to fit in, i've seen many of my friends conform to fit in with the crowd. All around me, everyday people are conforming and changing to fit in with the society. There are a lot of people that might disagree and argue with me. Some people might argue that being a leader is boring and can be embracing, why not fit in with society. However, I know from personal experience that not fitting in and being yourself can be really fun, and it can be embracing at first but you have to get over that and then its fun. Some people might ever like you more than what you were pretending to be, and may even follow you and be themselves. Everyone has tried to conform once in their life and I see it everyday, so I want you to pay attention and look for people changing and
