Sociological imagination allows a person to see themselves fitting into the society. A person has to have a certain thought or mind to be able to imagine themselves fitting into the world. Behavior and social acceptance are influenced by people around us. So instead of experiencing every day life in a single mind set, be able to think outside the box and see all sides of the situation. The main key, however, is that a person can't tackle this alone. A shift has to be made from a personal problem to a public issue. Our personal troubles have social factors that are most likely not just affecting one individual. During the video clip, the two big social factors are a growing tourist community and an act of mother nature. As a result of these social factors, individual lives are affected. They are influenced by the booming tourist community. Other individuals are loving the rebirth of the city, which brings more people to the city. The people aren't seeing the change as a good thing. Their normal routines were disrupted due to the city not allowing the building to be reopen. The people who used to live at the apartments can't see the opportunity the city sees, and the city doesn't see the struggle it is on the people. There are different perspectives that need to pointed out. The land of the apartment is desired land that could make the city have more money. The land is also a place that individuals used to call home. Because of the hurricane, the city had to rebuild. The society is influencing these changes. The change, however, can make it hard for the people to understand and deal with. The people of New Orleans need to adopt the concept of social imagination.
