One challenge that is faced on a daily bases for a college student is being able to find a parking spot. The majority of the student body drives to school with no guaranty that they will be able to station their car in the school zone. Although there’s always a way by avoiding this problem by means of other transportations, however students would prefer driving to school and for that reason a solution to the lack of parking spaces in the college campus is to assign each parking space with a number. Many colleges lack parking spaces inside campus, and it is a problem for not only students who are trying to get to class on time, but also for neighbors who live in the area near the college. Steven Pope states “parking’s been such a big problem that some family’s half to call the cops when a car blocks their drive way (Pope. Film)” Students are in a rush to get to classes that they speed and park were ever they can without measuring the consequences, and that is what’s stirring up trouble in the neighborhoods leading neighbors to raise their voice about it. As if parking far from the school weren’t enough, neighborhoods don’t want college students taking up their parking spaces and their raising awareness about it. If students are not allowed to park in the streets anymore then they would miss classes or move schools given no other option. Students will park in the closest spot to the school if possible. According to Matt Jobin, “students will work out endlessly on a treadmill, but they won’t walk half a mile to their cars (Jobin). Students want to get to class on time and apparently getting up early to find a parking spot is out of the question, and even so the problem will still remain. No one is saying that parking should be free, though it would be a weight lifter if it were, but if students half to pay for a parking pass to park in campus, then the college should at least have the decency to assure the buyer a parking space every time they enter the school. For example Northern Virginia Community college allows afternoon students, 4:00 pm and after, to park for free while morning students
