In a homework assignment i did for intro to law i had to ask a student what rule they wanted to change and a lot of students overheard about 15 and said the tardy policy because it takes away from are learning.This tardy Policy affects everyone. Some students that know that they will be late rather not show up because they rather not get the 30 min detention. Living off campus is one of the benefits of going to NU, because the community and environment around the campus is extremely college oriented. When you have an environment that is so conducive to the typical college student, obviously they are going to treat the surrounding territory as their territory. So then the issue really becomes, whose fault is it? Who is to blame for the noise complaints and the rude, rowdy behavior?
When the bell rings for students to go home the quiet and serene field of asphalt in front of school becomes a sinkhole and everyone is fighting to get out. There needs to be additional parking on campus made for those visiting the campus and also for students, faculty already has reserved parking; however the limited amount of parking on campus is forcing students and visitors to reserved faculty lots. Our school is limited in funding for certain projects such adding additional parking to solve the parking problem on campus. The student body should take responsibility for the raising of these funds to build additional parking on campus. The rising sophomore class should organize fund raising events to build additional parking on campus.
Northern Arizona University set up these electronic scanners outside of classrooms so that they can monitor who actually shows up to class. They have to scan their ID and when the light turns green they are marked present. It bothers a lot of people because they feel like college is a time where they finally get to make decisions on their own. A lot of the solutions were brainstormed as a group from past experiences, we did do a little bit of research though. One thing we learned while doing research is that some colleges do not allow freshmen to have cars on campus [1]. Colleges seem to have many reasons for doing so some of the relevant reasons are that the college recognizes that there is not enough parking space around campus for the students and employees. Others are to get freshmen involved on campus and since freshman now have a new feeling of freedom the college attempts at protecting them from being able to drive home after a party [1]. Since tech has not really had a huge parking problem before students are starting to see signs that parking is becoming an issue one of the red flags that happened this year is that the prices went up on parking permits which shows signs of conflict with supply and demand. More demand than we have supply usually results in prices going up in hopes that people will not buy and it saves some of the supply [2]. I would like to see the parking and traffic crunch on and around this campus eased. Unless a student arrives before 8 o'clock in the morning or in the afternoon, cruising the parking lots or streets for a place to park is routine. Even buying a parking sticker does not mean you will have the privilege of a space. Competition for spaces during the rush hours of 9 A.M. to 11 A.M. is cutthroat. Would-be parkers stake out sections of a parking row and sit in their cars hoping someone in their section will leave. The other ploy is to try and catch someone who is just walking back to their car in order to plead for that space. lf these tricks fail, the only thing left is to park far away on the street and walk.
Have you ever thought about having the ability to use your own (personal) electronic devices in school? There are thousands of colleges to choose from, and for many students, the perfect college is a state university. One reason for this could be based on finances (public school being cheaper than private, also in-state tuition), the unwillingness to venture far from home, or maybe even the fact that you were such a die-hard college sports fan that you can 't picture yourself pledging your allegiance to another team. It doesn 't matter what your rationale is in attending a state school; all that matters is that you enjoy yourself, while at the same time receiving a great college education.
What would you think if you had to put your personal belongings in a crate, and every time you turn around something of yours were stolen? That is why I think students should have lockers. To protect their things, keep their things somewhere clean, and so they won't have to complain about carrying everything at once.
One of all of our earliest memory of school is riding the school bus for the first time without our parents. Many can relate to this but older generations might not be able to. Public school transportation has came along way from their first creation of carriages in the late 1800s all the way to the automotive industry in the early 1920s.
