Upon review of the “Seven Habits Profile” worksheet, I can clearly see that there are both strengths and weaknesses in my leadership style. This worksheet has made it obvious that my leadership style is behavioral. My concerns are mainly people and task oriented. I hold a high standard for initiating and securing structure while taking into consideration the wellbeing and trust of my employees. I am employed at Everest University in Tampa, FL as the Director of Allied Health. Behavioral approach to leadership suggests that leaders are made not born; it is the direct opposite of what the trait approach suggests (Cherry n.d.). Like I mentioned earlier, the behavioral approach focuses on what the leader can do with their positions rather than the qualities they posses (Cherry n.d.).
I also took the DiSC Work of Leaders Profile to analyze my style. The results indicate I fall between Steadiness and Conscientiousness, leaning more towards Steadiness which gives me the style SC. Many teenagers just like you and me have participated in writing this book by writing their own stories of how this book helped them. This book is split into 3 sections. Everyone develops habits in their life, but it depends on whether or not you have an obsession or develop an addiction for it. In Chapter 9 of “The Power of Habit” by Charles Duhigg, Angie Bachmann has a gambling addiction which led her to massive debts. She is a wife of Brian Thomas and have 3 daughters. Angie Bachmann should be held accountable for her gambling debts because her set of rules weren’t working, was tempted by Harrah’s perks, and her environment shaped her to become addicted.
The general personality traits, which are related to success both in and outside the workplace, are all inherent in my answers given in the Leadership Assessment Quiz. With statements such as, “it is easy for me to compliment others” and “team members listen to me when I speak,” it is apparent I possess these characteristics. Whereas my task- related personality traits associated with successful leadership, such as courage, still need to be developed. Not only do I know this in myself, but it is clearly pointed out throughout the test, with statements such as, “resolving conflict is an activity I enjoy” and “I would enjoy coaching other members of the team”.
The learning obtained from the Leadership and Organizational Behavior course has been valuable. From this course, I have learned that while someone can be a manager or a leader, it is better to be both. The various topics discussed throughout the eight week course have provided the unique insight necessary to be an effective leader. The insight gained allow for the identification of the behaviors that an effective leader must possess and continually develop. By identifying these behaviors, I am better able to shape my leadership style and goals so that I can achieve my full career potential as a leader within my organization. Ultimately, I realize that it is important to both do things right and do the right things in all my actions within an organization.

We often make new year resolutions but often give up shortly a couple days later, why? To achieve a healthy lifestyle all you have to do is look at the big picture, plan ahead, maintain a healthy diet, and exercise.
The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People (Covey, 2004) has become the cornerstone of leadership and management wisdom. The habits emphasize personal responsibility and personal leadership. There is challenge in living everyday under the guidance of the habits but there is also great benefit as living the habits can influence everything we do in life. I was introduced to Covey’s seven habits through a one day seminar at my workplace several years ago. I learned some of the terminology and a few of the concepts but never really understood the power of the practical application of the habits. Reading the Covey materials has taught me that life is not about all the tasks that I accomplish but instead about accomplishing the tasks that support what is important to me. Covey has taught me that there are elemental components that are applicable across the many roles that I have in my life. Those universal elements are integrity, vision, discipline, and passion. Embracing these ideas has opened my eyes to the endless applications and benefits of living the seven habits.
This paper describes about my leadership strengths and areas for growth/future study. It also included how these qualities are used in my daily work routine, self-assessment results and a brief explanation on Individual style in leadership.
Leadership has been defined as mobilizing the workforce towards training organizational goals (Yukl, 1998). The style of the leader is considered to be important in achieving organizational goals and therefore it is important to know your own leadership style as the leadership style will impact on the performance among subordinates (Berson et al., 2001). However this does not mean the leadership style alone will be responsible for all the performance of workers and attainment of goals.
The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People is a book written by Stephen Covey. In the book he writes about seven habits that highly effective people have. The seven habits of highly effective people are: be proactive, begin with the end in mind, put first things first, think win-win, seek first to understand then to be understood, synergize, and sharpen the saw.
A habit can be many things, some good, some not so good. Everyone has habits that they would like to change and maybe improve upon. I believe the majority of habits I have are good ones but some are not. These bad habits are the ones I will talk about.
