I chose Samaritan Purse as my non-profit organization, and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention as my government organization. The mission statement for Samaritan Purse is as follows: “Samaritan’s Purse is a non-denominational evangelical Christian organization providing spiritual and physical aid to hurting people around the world. Since 1970, Samaritan’s Purse has helped meet the needs of people who are victims of war, poverty, natural disasters, disease, and famine with the purpose of sharing God’s love through his Son, Jesus Christ. They do not claim that they can miraculously cure every disease, rather they state they will do everything in their power to help and to prevent widespread infection. That leaves Samaritans Purse as the less believable of the two. Respectfully I say this, because they are a non-profit organization and do not have as reliable of resources as that of a government organization. What truly made me choose this company second on the scale of believability is that it’s hard to imagine this one organization can always successfully “serve the church worldwide.” That statement in itself is a huge declaration escpecially from a non-profit. I firmly believe that both companies are equally accurate in their mission statements. CDC really does work around the clock executing everything that they stated. Without CDC the death toll from diseases would be substantially higher; our world would not have the amount of information on diseases henceforth increasing the spread and in term the death toll.
