Rhetoric Article #1 For the first rhetoric article, I chose the McPick 2 McDonalds commercial. This commercial displays pathos with a catchy jingle playing throughout the ad, and how they repeat, “Let me get a McPick 2.” It displays ethos because McDonalds is a well known fast food chain that many people like, so people are normally going to believe what they say. It shows logos by explaining how the deal works, and how the food is delicious, or juicy, which makes you want to go eat some of the food. I think this commercial is very effective because they put a catchy jingle in your mind about juicy food. This commercial show pathos by the rock music playing in the background of every scenario, and how all the people tried to find a way to show they were wearing there seat belt was a bit humorous. They also have a creative slogan that sticks in your mind. This ad shows ethos by showing if you don't click it or ticket, you will get a ticket. This is ethos because it's coming from people who know what happens when you don't fasten your seat belt. It exhibits logos by telling the audience, if the don't click it, they'll get a ticket. This commercial mostly displays pathos by showing hurt and sad dogs flash up on your screen, and playing in the background is In the Arms of an Angel. This makes the audience really want to put these dogs out of their misery and adopt one of them. The ethos in this commercial when Sarah McLaughlin shows her holding her own dog that she adopted herself. Logos is displayed through the facts about how there are dogs suffering right now, and they need your help. Overall, this commercial is effective because it almost puts the audience in tears thinking about the dogs
