A zoo is an environmental area for animals, it is also an exhibit for humans to see and learn about the animals. It’s a place where friends and family come together and see the animals of nature. There are many zoos all over the world. There are three very important reasons why animals should be kept in a zoo.
Firstly, you’re saving animals lives from predators. Would you like to see a baby gazelle being mauled by a lion? Zoos protect and care for all the animals in danger and keep them safe from being eaten or attacked by their predators. Research has shown that many animals are being brought in zoos for they’re almost becoming extinct.
Furthermore, people get to see animals from all over the world. Would you like go to the Amazon or Africa
...d their viewers. There are so many benefits from having zoos. They give many gifts to the viewers and the captive animals. They aid in conservation, education, and entertainment. Without zoos, humans would not know enough about animals to treat their diseases, or to help wild animals with injuries. Many people would go without knowledge of the world’s different animal species. Several species would have seen extinction already. Zoos are a highly valuable commodity that should not be terminated.
Lastly, many zoos have breeding programs which helps endangered species grow their population. In the wild some animals find it hard to find a mate and to successfully breed. At zoos they have professionals which make sure that the breeding goes successfully and that the baby grows into a strong and healthy adult. If you still don't believe that animals should be kept in zoos another option is an animal sanctuary where animals are able to run free but still have the care of a human if

... Without these zoos, many animals such as the tortoises, American alligator, and the bald eagle would no longer exist. These zoos provide food, shelter, and the opportunity to recreate their species once more. Without zoos, many of these animals would have become extinct and many endangered animals argue that zoos are the perfect place to start a new life. With animal rights activists, scientists, parents, and animals being on different sides of the argument, this debate will continue.
Many individuals today are blinded by the negative treatment that animals receive in zoos and fail to see the benefits of having the exhibits. These particular individuals feel that zoos should be outlawed because the cons outweigh the pros as they bring nothing besides animal cruelty. They feel that no level of care within zoos is enough to make zoos humane. In addition to this, these individuals hold that nothing can be done to increase the health of animals within Britain zoos as the zoos themselves consistently fail in improving the quality of care they deliver. “While there is intense public interest in the welfare of captive animals, the zoo community has been slow to establish consistent standards for assessing animal welfare “ (Draper 1059).
Millions of people visit zoos every year, not knowing that they can be very inhumane to most animals. Zoos may be a very good tourist attraction and a good field trip, that could be very educational if it is a good zoo, but they should not be allowed to carry all of the animals it does. With zoos carrying many different types of animals only certains should be held in the zoo. Only animals that are about to be extinct should be in the zoos. Since there are very few of an animal that is about to go extinct, it would be a very safe option to have them kept there.
The animals have gotten the bad end of the deal for a long time; however, this can change. There is a way to compromise the entertainment of the people and the freedom of the animals. The benefits of zoos are debatable; however, animals do not belong locked up. Some people believe zoos are sanctuaries for endangered species.

If some people get their way, most zoos everywhere will be abolished. What if all zoos closed down? If all zoos shut their gates, the excitement and knowledge they bring to all of us would be gone!
Going to the zoo or circus with the family has always been a great activity. You get to spend time seeing the animals and having a laugh or two. However, have you ever thought about how the animals feel. Zoos are not able to provide sufficient space for animals, and often house them in small cages or too small of fenced areas. Circus animals are tortured by putting them in cages and forcing them to be entertainment.
In the last ten years over 7,000 rhinos have been poached, constantly putting the species in danger. While people are innocently hunting animals, some species are being put into danger. For example, the rhinos, if poachers do not stop hunting them they will soon all become extinct. Poaching will not stop; therefore, zoos become a safe haven for animals. They are able to see animals that normally are too far away. Zoos are also there for a lot of other reasons. Zoos are also trying to be more humane by making their home more natural by adding more nature and less contrasting colors. As well as giving up some animals like elephants due to the fact that there is no way to give them a natural home. These animals are being cared for and pampered throughout their life, as well as educate most visitors that come. Zoos are able to keep animals safe and make sure that they can have a nice long life while people constantly care and try to make their life better, although
Zoos hire trained professionals to take care of animals and keep them healthy at all times. Burns analyzed “Zoos have the facilities for care and breeding. They have researchers and veterinarians. And they have critical mass: 180 million people visit the 224 zoos and aquariums in the U.S. association every year. ‘No one else has that.
Zoos are an unsuitable environment for wild animals and should, therefore, be abolished. Firstly, zoo animals are kept in a very confined area compared to their vast natural habitat. Secondly, breeding programmes are far less successful than zoos claim. Thirdly, zoo animals are exposed to many diseases and other dangers. Zoo animals are usually kept in very cramped enclosures and do not behave like their wild counterparts.
