Is it up to humans to decide which animals’ lives, dies, or gets imprisoned? Humans have taken the freedom from many kinds of animals for their personal gain. Polar bears have been moved to high heat areas of the world like San Diego, California. Exotic birds are moved to enclosures not even a quarter of the size that they are used to. The zoo visitors come and go when they please while the animals stay locked up. The animals have gotten the bad end of the deal for a long time; however, this can change. There is a way to compromise the entertainment of the people and the freedom of the animals.
The benefits of zoos are debatable; however, animals do not belong locked up. Some people believe zoos are sanctuaries for endangered species. Other people believe that animals belong to the wild. Animals are not on Earth to simply entertain. They have an important role in

They have worked together to provide food for the Manna House, donate clothes to the needy and have fund raising activities. If the members of the community were to be informed about the miserable lives that animals live in the zoo, they would be motivated to help. Helping the animals live a better life will cause a chain reaction among small zoos. With the help of social media we can help spread ideas easier and more efficiently.
Social media can help bring attention to the unhappy zoo animals. Dodge City is not a large city; however, Dodge City does have a lot of people that care. By using social media, it will help people find their voices together. Like minded people can come together and raise money or make creative videos that will bring awareness. There are infinite amounts of ideas that can shed light to the animals. Social media will help get the word around while influencing other people to do the same for their local zoo. This community works well together and they will help the animals just like they have helped the
Despite this active media sharing, the association has fewer than 150 followers. More followers must be generated to build a dedicated group of people to lobby for the cause. The organization disappoints in that it does not post any announcements about current or upcoming happenings for supporters to see. On the positive side, a link to the website can be obtained for online surfers to find out more information. VETSPACE’s social media only has room for improvement in the quest for broadening community awareness and support
For a long time the ways that non-profit organizations raise money was the same. They used solicitation letters as a way to reach out and engage new audiences to financially support their organizations. Then with the rise of the internet, they were able to use mass emails. Now there is an even newer form of technology that allows organizations to fundraise and gain new audiences. This new medium is social media. Stone brings up some good points about using social media to fundraise. He quotes Stannard-Stockton, chief executive of Tactical Philanthropy Advisors, as saying, “It’s pretty well documented that social media is by no means an easy way to raise money, but it is a rather fantastic way to build a network of supporters.” Using a few other articles this paper will explore how nonprofits need to properly use social media and how it can help their organizations in return.
It’s always fun to go with your friends and family to see cute and exotic animals when you go to the zoo, right? You may think that they have the best life having people to give them things that want and to protect them, but some of them are actually suffering just for our amusement from being in that small enclosure all day and all night. Animals should not be put in zoos because they can develop many mental and physical health problems due to the absence of some natural necessities and they are not always treated as nice as you think.
Zoo captivity does not benefit the animals trapped at the zoo is because it doesn't allow for the animals to be
In my opinion, social media is a way to bring the world closer and an assertion of consumer choice can be used for promoting issues that matter. A human rights activist can make an unknown story reach hundreds of thousands of people by the ‘simple click of a button’.
.... Case in put, society needs to make a difference and actually take a stand for the change this world so desperately needs. Social media may help achieve this, but one also must help the surrounding communities to actually make this change evident.
...ies in their towns” (Valenti). Valenti also says “Real life activism is organized through mail, Facebook and Twitter” (Valenti). I believe that social media will have an impact on businesses and movements for a long time. Social media is a good marketing tool to make your cause known and to gain support all over the world.
Misusing the technological environmental factor are impacting the Zoos Victoria annual membership average (Zoos Victoria report 2014/15). The current huge improvements in technology spread the content of advertising quickly and make it easy to access. Around 70% Australians access their social media accounts by using their cell phones (Sensis 2015). However, many visitors in Zoos Victoria are unaware about the Zoos Victoria conservation efforts and it is a not-for-profit zoo.
Social media strategies have not replaced the traditions tactics; however, of the 17 communication tactics considered “mandatory,” ten were computer-mediated (Lovejoy and Saxton 2012). The spread of these new media tactics has significantly increased nonprofits’ ability to communicate with clients, volunteers, media outlets, and other stakeholders. Instead of the traditional one-way communication tactics, social media has opened up a two-way dialog that provides an interactive outlet of communication between an organization and those stakeholders (Stengel) while reducing the turn-around rate of communication ...
One of these benefits is the wide audience these organizations can now reach. Previously an organizations’ audience was limited to forms of media that were locally available, but social media networks now allow us to connect and share important information with an infinite number of people worldwide. Another benefit of communicating with social media is the speed at which information can be shared. It is now possible to have near instant updates on important information such as Amber Alerts, severe weather warnings, and even information on criminals. This is a vast improvement over previous forms of communication that could take hours or even days to provide updates on events.
... Without these zoos, many animals such as the tortoises, American alligator, and the bald eagle would no longer exist. These zoos provide food, shelter, and the opportunity to recreate their species once more. Without zoos, many of these animals would have become extinct and many endangered animals argue that zoos are the perfect place to start a new life. With animal rights activists, scientists, parents, and animals being on different sides of the argument, this debate will continue.
middle of paper ... ... Freedom is precious and animals are constantly suffering mentally and physically from the lack of freedom that captivity brings to them. Although many zoos are visited by millions of people annually, they still operate at a loss and have to make budget cuts. Funds that should be used to provide humane conditions for animals are often wasted on cosmetic improvements such as landscaping, refreshment stands, and gift shops in order to draw visitors, leaving the animals behind steel bars and glass trapped in a concrete jungle for no reason without hope of ever being free.
Some of the ideas that are central to the idea that social media is a benefit to today’s society are that social media encourages increased communication with friends and family, provides fast access to breaking news and other information, and help business attract new business and correspond more quickly with their existing customers. Increased communication is important in all aspects of life. Keeping in touch with family and friends is easier than ever before. Whether it be a Facebook post or a tweet updating friends about exciting news or being able to see a picture...
A considerably large and important part of this initiative is education. Public education can go a long way in attempting to end any kind of ongoing crisis. A lot of times, the majority of the general public does not know very much about a particular issue that you are passionate about. I have found this to be especially true with wildlife crime and illegal wildlife trafficking. Personally I did not know a lot about this topic before I started this research paper, but over the course of my research I have become very familiar with the issue of wildlife crime and illegal trafficking. There are a number of organizations with websites where people can find facts about illegal wildlife trafficking and poaching, but very few people know about
On the one hand, with the penetration of internet into people’s daily life, it provide a critical platform for charity publicity which could increase the engagement between the public and the charity.
