I Kings 19:11-13 relates the prophet Elijah’s seeking God. He sits and waits for Him, expecting a windstorm, earthquake, or fire to precede his presence. But nothing of the sort comes his way. In fact, when God finally shows up, He speaks to Elijah in a whisper. My testimony is like that of Elijah. It is not one of sudden change like a windstorm, unstable footing like an earthquake, or destruction and loss like a fire. Instead it is quiet and simple, a seemingly insignificant whisper from the Lord.
I was never a bad child. I had my fair share of misbehaving, but I never rejected God or rebelled against Him. When I was 7-years-old, I felt the call of Jesus on my heart and understood that I must accept His grace in order to be saved from the hell I deserved. There was no miraculous change or astonishing conversion in my life. I was just a little girl who understood I needed a Savior and surrendered my life to Him.
