My coming to faith in Christ has been brought about by several events that happened in my life before I could have an eternal dance with Him. The first event that contributed to my spiritual being was the fact that I had been born to a devout Christian couple. While they never shoved it down my throat or forced me into religion, watching my parents live out their faith under extremely difficult circumstances was an exciting inspiration to me though I had to delay my hour of decision till much later. Other people around me were keenly watching, and with no time I became one among the guys that people would call spiritual. This is what the Lord says: "Let not the wise man boast of his wisdom or the strong man boast of his strength or the rich man boast of his riches, but let him who boasts boast about this: that he understands and knows me, that I am the Lord, who exercises kindness, justice and righteousness on earth, for in these I delight," declares the Lord. Nevertheless, the foundation of my life is my experience of Christ and commitment to the truth of his spiritual gospel. My early years were spent considering questions of how, specifically, God makes a difference in one's life; in time, the answer came not in an abstract formula but inextricably linked with the exercise of my personal faith. The Christian faith has been a major legacy left by my great-grandfather. My great-grandfather started a Spanish church in Blue Island, Illinois, and raised his family in the ways of the Lord. He taught his children the importance of having a strong foundation in the Word and the importance of coming to church. His legacy is evident in the lives of his children and grandchildren. Even when at times different family members have walked away from the Lord, their strong foundation as children has often times brought them back to God. My grandma and my mom both had similar experiences, and if it had not been for the strong foundation in the Word of God, God only knows where they would be today and if I would even exist. I grew up in church, and have a personal relationship with God, that will enable me to be apart of the Christian culture at Southeastern

After seeing though the eyes of my pastor I’ve come to realize the importance of faith and committing to one’s beliefs. Returning to church after two massive losses has helped my mother in many ways and it has also taught me as a young man how small things that I could do would turn to have a big impact on someone’s life the same way my pastor impacted my life and the life of my siblings.
The Christian worldview is centered on the Gospel and places their beliefs in the essential teachings of the Trinity, the deity of Jesus Christ, and Jesus’ resurrection from the dead (DiVincenzo, 2015). This paper will explain who God is and what he created, what our purpose and nature is as humans, who Jesus was and what he did while on earth, how God plans to bring his people back into the right relationship with himself, and as a Christian how one is to live their life with an analysis of the Christian worldview.
When reading The Pardoner’s Prologue and Tale, Hamlet and The Wife of Bath’s prologue and Tale it is apparent that religion is a very influential theme. For centuries religion has been the main topic of most conversations, yet at the same time the main subject of discussion. I am almost sure that at one point or another you have had conversations about what was right and what was wrong in society, in way or another your input on the subject was determined by your religious belief. Religion during the time these plays were written was very important and you are able to notice since all three plays mention the Bible, different sins or praying and all of these made up a religion. Even if both, Shakespeare and Chaucer were not alive during the same time period they did share the same country of birth and probably the same views on religion. In the Pardoners Prologue, the pardoner benefits from the need of people to seek forgiveness, in Hamlet, Hamlet changed his mind of killing his uncle when he saw him praying, and in The Wife of Bath’s Prologue she turns to the bible attempting to justify herself, all three plays make religion a major part of the development of the story line.

Faith has provided me with the strength to press forward and believe Christ will bring me through any adversity that I am or will go through personally or professionally. Through faith personally Christ gave me the protection that I needed to conquer my fears, love and care for others, and the motivation to move forward in the midst of life's challenges. He continues to provide me with victory over the challenges that I face in my life daily by providing me with determination and self-motivation. Professionally faith has keep me in a steady pursuit of employment. I have been unemployed since November 30, 2016 and I have yet to find employment, but I still believe that Christ will help me find employment.
I’d like to state the most obvious observation that I’ve made about spiritual formation; that is that I will always need to be seeking for ways to nurture my personal spirituality throughout my life. I know that to most people this may sound like a “duh” statement, but for me it has truly become a reality and one that I must admit I have been struggling to embrace. I was brought up in a church that, like most traditional churches, stayed happy living in the “comfort zone” of their Christianity. They took everything that the Bible said at face value without digging in to find out why they believed what they believed. I had never been challenged to look deeper into the text. In the past few years I have felt the need to tunnel out of this cave of what I feel is best labeled “Christian ignorance”. In the process though, I have had to come to terms with letting go of the things that brought me comfort and provided me with what I thought it took to have a close relationship with God. Some of those things were tangible. Most were not. The things that were the least tangible actually ended up being the hardest to let go of.

When we accepted Jesus as our personal Lord and Savior, we became God’s “little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world” (BibleGateway). A great peace and joy came over me while reading Roberts words: “God has more people for you to reach with a message that God loves, God heals, God is the Source of every person’s total supply, and God sent His only begotten Son so that any person who believes in Him might be forgiven of sin and live with God for all eternity” (Roberts 163). This is only the beginning; God wants us to reach every person no matter their race, religion, culture or creed with His good news. Roberts words of sowing and reaping stood out, because God has a specific time and place for everyone to sow and reap His benefits, and it should be a continuous, seamless lifestyle linked to faith” (Roberts 180 & 181). The Ultimate Voice, written by Oral Roberts reveals to us how God transformed his life, along with how to hear God’s voice to fulfill His plan and purpose in our lives.
As a student at the University of Portland, who has now spent a semester living amidst the Catholic culture, I have started to think about religion fundamentally different than prior to this year. Theology class has been enlightening. In class, a new external lens of how one can view faith while learning to think critically in the search of truth has been presented.
