An understanding of oneself is necessary in order to obtain greater satisfaction at the workplace. Therefore, this project is focusing on my unique preferences and defining them in a way which helps me to better analyze my personality and my preferences towards the workplace. My different nuances that will be described, are concerning myself as an individual, working with others, and life in organizations. Then, I will go into further detail on what I have learned from this personality test and how I can better utilize these results to increase my understanding of my preferred work environment. I scored the lowest in extroversion and openness to experience, which was fairly indicative of how I am and how I relate to the world. Since, I do tend to be less extraverted and more introverted. This introversion was also shown on my Jungian typology test and once again showed my result as an INTJ (Kennedy & Kennedy, 2004). The first project also showed my type as an INTJ, so it is reassuring to see two tests confirming the same results (“Jung Typology Test”, n.d.). As an INTJ there is a description of being, “skeptical, critical, independent, determined, and often stubborn” (Student Assessment Library, n.d.). This is an extremely accurate description of my outlook as I identify with all of them and it really summarizes my personality. Conducting further testing, I found that I was a strong Type B and I also have a higher intolerance of ambiguity (Student Assessment Library, n.d.). Therefore, I am more inclined to view change as a threat instead of an opportunity. Regarding job involvement I found that I was right in the middle, whereby I am not extremely involved in my job and this is fairly accurate concerning the position I currently hold. Yet, overall I am satisfied with my job and this shows with the higher score that was obtained while testing. There is a tremendous impact on how a person deals with life and their resulting managerial style. Also, if the employees feel that their environment is not fair or are they are not feeling fulfilled they are more likely to miss work and become tardy (Fischer, n.d.). Therefore, I realize how important it is to create a safe environment for all employees in order to increase productivity and trust (Fischer, n.d.). This will be helpful in the future if I become a manager and is also indicative of the environment I want to work at. Specifically, this personality test has made me more aware of my weaknesses and by learning this, I can work on my issues and try to improve as an employee. For example, I learned that I have fear concerning giving performance feedback. Yet, I can turn the performance feedback into a positive experience if I turn it into constructive criticism. Additionally, I found that I was in the second quartile of building and leading a team and I could probably improve this by increasing my communication skills. Step
