My Writing Experience

“I believe that I’m at least competent as a writer as I can usually fluidly express ideas, but those technical skills will be even further crucial once I enter college and the adult world. Rhetorical context means you think about who your audience is and write accordingly, and proper citation means you reference other people you pulled information from right? Absolutely. There was a bit of apprehension as I opened the folder to look at the feedback provided as I constantly feel embarrassed by mistakes I produce, especially easily preventable ones. I observed the wide range of comments, some favorable, but a majority constructive. I cruised through page to page until I saw a quote that slapped me across the face with how ludicrous a mistake I made. “This summary is identical to the summary of a different source listed on page 4. Obviously, this impacts your credibility with readers”. Summaries were required for each of the sources we selected, and I somehow managed to include the same one for two sources.
