“The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you'll go.” by Dr.Seuss. This quote is true because it created new perspectives in my life and it shaped who I am. When I entered my AP Literature class, I had a smile in my face because I was ready learn how to improve in reading and writing. I always received a C in reading and writing; it was never for me and my smile always disappeared. A small and orange class with no windows covered with posters was a perfect environment for me because it inspired me to read and write since there was no distractions.

I had no confidence to move on forward because we there was a high expectation in our reading and essays. We read a poem in class and only one line stood out to me because I relate to the author. “A Road Not Taken”, “Yet knowing how way leads on to way, I doubt if I should ever come back” this means that we walk the path we can soon move to a place where you going back is possible. I had no choice to move on and to take the class, do the work and hope for the best. Reading difficult novels hurt my brain because I did not the understand the meaning of the text. Describing the thesis and the literacy devices were familiar to me, but getting under the iceberg of the text was a new level because I didn’t know to explain it. I kept rushing it because I wanted to find the meaning of the story. The teacher was concerned because I was not doing a good job and I had to seek for help but I looked away with ashame. My fear grew because I was not learning and my interest in the class was not growing. However my hopes were low and I was preparing for the worst. Running around my head looking for answers and the feeling of despair, it got worse and I was not
