Dr. Seuss wrote this inspiring quote in his popular children’s book, I Can Read With My Eyes Shut, which teaches young children about the wonders of reading and encouraging them to take pride in their reading abilities.
Reading is a fun way to learn new things. It opens a window into another world, whether it be fantasy or reality. It develops your brain and helps you become knowledgeable in various subjects. Not only does it help you become a better student, but it makes you a better person because you will learn life lessons from characters you will meet inside the pages of a book.
Why do children need to read?
Books contain valuable information and powerful ideas that can help guide the children to become better individuals. An inspiring book passage can influence them to aspire for greater things and to be who they want to be. This is the reason why parents and educators encourage children to develop excellent reading skills. Not only is it essential for survival in the school environment, but in everyday life as well.
Apart from the aforementioned benefits of reading, there are other ways in which reading continues to be a necessary skill for children to master, here are some of them.
