Who am I? I would say I am a hardworking, dependable and committed individual I try my hardest in everything, even if I 'm not good at it or don’t know a thing about it. I am always willing to give it a shot and get out there and learn something new. My motivation to move forward with my career would be my family because they have always been there for me and want to see me succeed in life and I want to show them that they can have faith in me to be the best that I can be and be proud of me for trying to succeed in my career. There are a lot of people that just go into nursing and don 't really know what they are getting themselves into so from starting from the bottom really helps you to get to the top the right way and learn more while you are heading there. My goal in the future would be an RN working in pediatrics or even the emergency room in a hospital, I volunteered at CMC hospital for about 3 years in the emergency room and I really enjoyed the environment, it made a learning experience for me to see if I actually wanted to be in the medical field and if I could handle it. I am glad I signed up to volunteer in my community it was a great feeling to be there for people and help out actually see how a hospital is run and what procedures you need to know also. It would be nice in a couple months to work as an LNA in a hospital because then I would already have my foot in the door. But it is very difficult to get into when you only have a year experience in a long-term care

    During my undergraduate years in college I wasn’t quite sure what I wanted to become when I “grew up”. I would study various professions and never felt like anything fit for me. One evening I sat down with my aunt, a nurse, and I was talking to her about how I couldn’t decide on a major and how frustrating it was to be in college feeling as if I did not have any direction. She looked at me with complete surprise on her face and said, “You aren’t applying for nursing school?” I stared at her for a moment because I was confused as to why she would ask me that. She chuckled and proceeded to tell me that she had always assumed that I would be a nurse because I spent several years of my life taking care of my 3 year old cousin who had cancer.
