I have this quote printed out and on the wall next to my door so I can see it every day as a reminder to myself. I believe that we all have a purpose on this earth and that everything we go through on the journey there has a reason whether to teach a lesson or set an example. We have places where we want to end up and goals we want to achieve. We set these goals and dreams to help us fulfill the purpose we see for ourselves. This goal is important to me because it can help me to become a police officer, be more prepared in my career and it can help me to get more money and advance to higher positions within that career. When I had to do my career interview I asked the detective that I was interviewing if it was necessary to have a degree to be a police officer and she said most of the people how have degrees do get more money on their paychecks and that if they were to try for a promotion having a degree can help but it wouldn’t really do much else. After that interview, I knew that I wouldn’t technically need a degree but I decided that I would still get it because I felt that it would help me to learn more about that career field and the laws that they don’t teach in the police academy. This goal has a lot to do with my strengths especially futuristic, adaptability and learner. This goal is important to me because I would be the first police officer in my family and that I would be a woman in a male-dominated field and I want to change how people view of police officers. One person that I can attribute my decision to become a police officer is my public safety teacher from high school. He was a worked for the St Cloud police department for thirty-five years and was the captain before he retired and became a teacher. I would always go to him with questions about being a police officer and what are some of the things they faced and he always answered me honestly and would give me advice from an impartial standpoint, not from someone that was trying to advocate to become a police officer. We would have conversations where sometimes he would be advising me to not become an officer and sometimes he would say to go for it but he always reminded me that to get through being a police officer it was always going to depend on the mindset you have towards the job and the people. You can go into the job thinking everyone is a criminal but you can’t think that everyone is good either. Also he told me that even if you did good people will always hate you which really bothered me since their sole purpose is to protect and serve the people and made me determined to become one because I wanted to be one of the good ones and help to change that idea in the community I would be
I want to be able to investigate crime scenes and if capable be able to learn more careers related to police detective's. Getting a job is probably the most worrisome matter for college seniors. Nowadays most students deem college education as an investment that can eventually bring profits in the long run in terms of a financially successful career. To this end, a great number of students major in the most lucrative majors, which are not their actual interests. Luckily, I am able to dive into the field I love in college, and it blends with my career goal perfectly. I like teaching and conducting research, so I hope to become a psychology professor at a research university some day.

I started my college career without a clear objective. In my youth once things became hard I stopped preforming and moved quickly on to another goal. I was not focused and felt I lacked the dedication needed in order to successfully preform in academic life. I was able to get by and graduate but my GPA suffered.
In the first quarter, my goals were mostly to just pass my classes with at least a B and since I started school a little late, I wanted to catch up with my work and bring up my grades because I was behind and failing most of my classes during the first few weeks. I also wanted to try and not get in trouble in my classes as much and I did not want to get detention. I met my first goal of bringing up my grades in all my classes from failing to passing and I am passing all of my classes with a B and above. I did not really meet my second goal of not getting in any kind of trouble because I got detention during the first quarter. My plan in life is to become a Police Officer.
