Advertising companies have found ways to implement their ads into schools. These advertising companies convince schools to input their logos onto their sports equipments, around their school campus, and even during events in return for the company’s support with money. Although these schools are receiving money from the advertising companies, they do not realise that they are earning less than the company. Allowing corporate sponsorship in an academic environment can be degrading towards the school, leaving them with a negative image, the company will ultimately be earning more money, students will be corruptive into greediness and the school along with the students will be seen as unprofessional.

Unhealthy choices varying in how it is promoted can bring about negative feedback from others, surrounding the school. The lifestyle in which McDonald's is given can be seen as childish, giving schools who are sponsoring them backlash from criticizers; since the school is seen as a serious learning environment. Also, parents may not think that it is in their children's best interest to be sponsoring such an unhealthy restaurant. Most schools try to promote a healthy environment, causing challenges to arise if they promote/ sponsor a fast food company. Besides that McDonalds is known to be a nationwide popular restaurant who probably has other people sponsoring them, which may indeed lead to unwanted attention that will hurt the schools image for what it stands for by the Champions of Character and Champions of Scholarship. However sponsoring McDonalds can be beneficial considering their efforts in educational programs it has to build character and responsibility. Nevertheless there comes to a certain extent where a gift or prize stops symbolizing as an inspiration, but instead embodies the idea that in order to have an interest in taking up a challenging position there must be a reward. Back in the year of 2014, the orchestra class of Hector Godinez Fundamental High School received a generous donation from the Taco-Bell Foundation for Teens, along with a performance from Young the Giant. Never more than a gracious offer from Taco Bell, there was no big reward, but just a sense of hope and encouraging students to be artistic and follow their dreams. There could be no actual corruption, but most of the times sponsor corporations do enable the idea that kids, accordingly students in schools will have a physical reward waiting for them after accomplishing an academic achievement. The Santa Unified School district is responsible for holding their annual Chevrolet raffle, where a student who has had perfect attendance a whole semester (or year not sure double check here) has the chance of winning a free Chevrolet car. Students can want to continue their perfect attendance not because they truly care for waking up super early in the morning and then going off for six hours of learning but the idea of a free brand new car is quite intriguing.
