Corporate Sponsorships
Schools all around the panhandle have been getting sponsored by a corporate partner. They have corporate sponsorships to help pay for uniforms for school sports, to help with facilities and many other things. It allows the students the opportunity to play Volleyball and Basketball on a better court, and to have a good track to run on. Even though, many people/ school staff feel it's necessary for a corporate sponsorship, they flounder to acknowledge the consequences it could have on the students. While funding helps schools with a variety of things, corporate sponsorships do not create a suitable surrounding for an educational environment, which is the most important thing.

Corporate sponsorships allow schools the ability to have better uniforms for sports, or if needed new desks. For example, my school has had the same desks since my parents have gone to school. We don’t have to have new ones but it would be nice. Which is valuable for the schools in debt. Lots of schools are in serious debt right now. Some schools aren’t able to provide needed instruments for the band, or choir uniforms. The extra money helps with providing the kids with that amazing equipment. Lots of schools provide their students with laptops, the extra money given from sponsorships helps a lot with that. They are doing anything that helps for the school. If having a corporate sponsorship is the way they’re helping, then so be it.
Then again, Corporate sponsorships are also very harmful. The logo’s that are put up on every single school wall are a distraction to all students. As well as all the vending machines.
