It is impossible to become an authentic leader without being a great communicator. Leaders with high communication skills are good at inspiring, motivating, and to influencing individuals by words toward a common or shared goal. Communication skills involve written or oral abilities of an authentic leader. Writing letters, writing reports, and heading meetings are good examples of communication skills needed by an authentic leader. These skills are also important for a leader in building relationships with the followers in an organization. Drucker (2011) in the Harvard Business Review article point out that “Organizations are held together by information rather than by ownership or command”(p. 31). For me communication skill is an essential tool that I need to learn and practice more to do a better job in my leadership career. For example, I have noticed when I give homilies on Sundays often times after mass some people come to me asking clarifications of some statements I made in my homilies. I have also noticed that some times my written text get criticisms from readers. I want to improve my communication skills through learning modern writings skills both formal and professional. With the use of high-tech, I want also to improve my presentation skills. For example, I need to learn how to use electronic devices for effective
