Hello everyone, welcome to my talk about insomnia. Whether you know what insomnia is or not, I will inform you about what it is, what causes it and suggestions to improve it. If you have problems such as trouble falling asleep, trouble staying asleep, or waking up too early in the morning, you may have a sleep disorders called insomnia. But, you are not alone. Insomnia is one of the most common sleep disorder in the United States. Insomnia can occur for different lengths of time. Sometimes you may experience insomnia for a short period and it will go away afterwards. However, if you have been experiencing this for at least 3 times a week for at least three months, you may have chronic insomnia. This may affect our sleep schedule since sometimes we tend to decrease our sleep to achieve what we need or we may worry too much when we are planning for the future. Adjusting to a new environment may take time and we have a lot on our hands. But, we need our best performance in order to get where we want to be faster, so it is important to maintain good sleep. If you have been experiencing insomnia, you should consider some of these suggestions before seeing a doctor about it. It will allow you to understand some areas that may be affecting your sleep. If the lights in your bedroom are not dark enough, make your environment darker using blinds for better quality sleep. You should keep your room at a comfortable temperature to sleep better. Sleeping at the same time each day keeps your internal clock consistent so your sleep schedule will be the same. If you tend to drink coffee or tea a lot, try to reduce it, so that the caffeine does not affect your sleep. Instead of caffeine, exercising is also a good way to improve your day.
