Leadership is one of the important elements in an organization. It is a subject that attracts the attention for being associated with influence, power and wealth (Khairil Annas, 2009). When the topic of leadership been expressed, the main focus of the topic is related to the manner and style of leadership practiced by a leader itself. Various leadership styles were introduced by researchers on leadership that consists of autocratic leadership style, democratic leadership style, and laissez faire leadership style.

Based on the study, the change of leadership style has slowed down the rate of tourism at one of the villages under the study. However, the changes of leadership style within the community has affected and changed the number of tourists arriving dramatically. The change of leadership style from democratic leadership style to autocratic leadership style will affect the journey of the homestay itself. Therefore, a good leader with a good leadership style is seems to be very important to help move the community into the right direction and lead the path to the success of community development.

According to Mullins (1999), autocratic leadership style places the priority on the performance but not on the employee or people. The leader also make all decision making by using their veto power in determining policies, standard operation procedure (SOP) for achieving goals, incentives to employees and also punishments (Mullins,1999).
