Their investment operations, career networking, workplace norms, and the introduction to business are some of the specific programs. Year Up is also a way for me to gain entry-level skills in the growing field of technology and skills. Year Up also has a good track record of producing high quality personnel for the corporate world and, truthfully, since it does not cost me financially it is the best route for me to gain financial freedom.

After three long years of high school it is finally time to experience one of the greatest years of my life, senior year. There will be a lot of lasts this year. Last first day of school, last homecoming, last volleyball game. This year is all about making memories with my friends before we graduate and go our different ways.

Journaling is a past-time long forgotten. Finding time to write everyday presents a challenge for many, and so does finding a topic to write about when a mundane day passes. Because of this, most people choose to bypass journaling; however, I have recently rediscovered the purpose of recording my every day shenanigans. Just a week ago I noticed a small notebook hiding behind a few unread books while I was cleaning my bookshelves. As I pulled it from its little nook, it registered in my brain what its contents held. Opening the book was like time-travelling back to my first day at the high school. The words made me cringe consistently, and I began to comprehend how much I have changed since freshman year. My second year in high school has been way much better than freshman year was. Last year was a rollercoaster both inside of school and outside; academically this school year is better because I feel that I try better to understand a topic in class and don't give up as fast as I did last year. High school is every kid’s dream: less rules, more freedom, more fun. That wasn’t necessarily how it happened for me. In fact, so far my freshman year has been the worst year of my life. It started out alright. It was like a fresh start. I stopped self harming. I started eating more. Actually, I started eating a lot more, bring me to my third and final eating disorder. Binge eating. I gained weight my freshman year. This entire school year, I did not participate in one sport.

The first portion of my freshman year is a poor reflection on who I am as a student. You have to go into a new atmosphere with many new people and rules. It can be hard to figure out where you fit in and belong. This has stayed mostly the same for past and present. High school has always been a new atmosphere and experience. When my dad was in high school he loved to play sports with his friends, go to school dances, and hang out with friends. There were no football teams at my dad’s high school because it wasn’t a big enough high school, so in the fall you watched soccer, field hockey, and track. My dad ran cross country in the Fall, played basketball in the Winter, and played baseball in the Spring. His school was surrounded by athletics fields much like any other high school past and present. School dances had music, dancing, and each one had a different theme. They were locally decorated by the students based on the theme of that particular dance. At lunch, he sat with all his friends. The lunches were typical and always had the same meals. There were no snacks that you could buy, just what was being served for
When thinking of an incident where I experienced failure, what comes to mind is the end of my first semester of junior year. My report card came in the mail and when I got home and was already opened by my parents. The look on their faces said everything, no words were exchanged just looks of pure disappointment and sadness. My parents just like any, wanted me to do well in school and to hopefully go on to college and become successful in my career choice. As you know junior year is said to be the most important year, grade wise in high school. I didn’t realize, just like in freshman and sophomore year, how important doing well in and taking school seriously was. My parents assumed my freshman year grades were just low because high school was a new thing to me and I was adjusting.
As underclassmen you come into high school either thinking that the next four years of your schooling will be really easy or really stressful. To tell the truth it can be both, weather you come into high school with a positive or negative attitude. High school is the last place you can get away with some mistakes and try again. The next four years will test your skills and responsibilities. You can learn a lot about yourself in high school, from how you use your time in school to your after school activities you do. What you do from a freshman to a senior will determine what you want and can do for future careers. High school will challenge you in many ways from organization skills to time management skills.
The last year of high school is quite difficult not because you get loaded with homework every Friday night and especially when your friends invite you somewhere. The most difficult part of being a senior is the count down to June ninth, because after that I am on my own. I have to decide my future. All the concepts I have learned from kindergarten to twelve grade I have to decide where i take that knowledge, weather it is being a student at a university or community college, or being a worker.
