The movie Flight might be a good choice for the project at hand because, what the movie involves is a wider “social body”. In addition to the addiction-afflicted individuals who are the leading characters of the movie, there is a reputation of a big airline that people use for their day-to-day flights at stake if its pilots were flying drunk. There is also the life of the passengers in the plane the addict pilot (Whip) was responsible to fly safely as the captain of the jet. There were also crews working on the airplane starting from the co-pilot to the number of stewardesses who either lost their life or were permanently disabled, to individuals on the ground where the plane had landed who could have become victims when the plane crash-lands …show more content…

Again cocaine was used to prepare him for the meeting since it can have a sobering effect. On the meeting he was informed what caused the mechanical failure and he was commended for landing the plane and saving lives that was attributed to his veteran status. However, two empty vodka bottles were found on the plane trashcan that were not similar to what was served to the passengers and there was ample reason to believe that it was the stewardess who died in the crush-landing who could have drank it, because alcohol was found in her system. What this reveals is that there is evidence that alcohol is causing much more damage than any of the other illicit drugs, in spite of the fact that many countries and jurisdiction had attempted to make alcohol an illicit substance, as mentioning the alcohol Prohibition era in the US in the earlier days reveals. After the Prohibition was lifted its use was somehow regulated, whereas a few communities had prohibited its sale totally till date, even if smuggling it into any community illegally is still possible. What ensued gradually is accepting the fact that alcohol might not be evil or bad but those who are using it should apply some kind a discipline and self control so that its use will not get out of hand as shown in the movie from what happened to
