First Time I Broke My Wrist
Eight O'clock In The Morning
“But mom I don't want to go inside. I don't like school!” I whine. I slam my fists down on the car seat tray, my fists start to turn pink and red.
“Nora, sweetheart you have to go to school that way you can become really smart!” She tells me. She looks at me through the door and tries to unbuckle me but i stop her by covering my arms over the belt buckle. I try to glare at her but she just looks at me, tips her head back, laughs and I wonder if my glare looks weird and I cover my face by looking down into my arms, that are covering my belt buckle.
“What! What is it! Why are you laughing at me?!” I wail. I start to cry and she sees me then she hugs me.
“I was laughing because you were trying to glare at me.” She confesses. Then,

My life has never been this painful. “Nora, settle down put your arm up like you would hold a baby. Okay now i’m going to put this pass in your arms and you’re going to walk in walk into the school silently, there are still classes going on, go straight to the office go straight to the front entrance of the school to the office and walk into the office. Mrs.Elaine will help you when you get there.” She calls the office and tells them that i’m coming down. I walk inside and go to the office I walk to the door of the office, stand behind the door frame, look for people and see Mrs. Elaine. I walk up to Mrs. Elaine and she says “Hi Nora. We called your mom she will be here soon. Okay?” I run up to Mrs. Elaine and give her the biggest hug I can without hurting my arm that feels like it’s burning. “Hi Nora! We called your mother and she said she will call your grandma to come pick you up from school. Okay?” “Okay...where...do...I...go? I manage to choke out between quiet, little sobs. I look around the office to find a room with mostly windows, the principal's office and the office ladies
Grace: We must look like a pair in the women's bathroom crying about our family’s and college rejections *Grace began to laugh*
“Hi Daisy”, Abby says while taking a seat across from me. At that moment, my jaw literally dropped, and my mouth went speechless and dry. “Daisy!” Mom snapped, giving me “The Look”. I quickly closed my mouth and said hi. As we spent a few minutes in awkward silence after I said hi, I sat there staring aimlessly into her face. I wasn’t trying to be rude but she w...
All of the students started walking toward the east field where the lockers were located. Of course Stephanie S. Stufflebeam was near the mermaid fountain closest to Elizabeth’s locker. Stephanie’s honey yellow hair was straightened, her green eyes stared Elizabeth down like a hawk, and she wore a hot pink tube top with a short, short skirt. When Elizabeth came into ear range, Stephanie grabbed a megaphone and shouted: “ Hey, loser! A little birdie told me that your mom got a new job! How much does it pay?” She looked at me hard then everyone else, “what do you all think?”. Her best friend Paige shouted “I bet that stupid, little restaurant that no one goes to and where no one gets paid very much, I mean look at those jeans!”. Everyone started
I felt it pop, and pain engulfed my shoulder like ants cover an anthill that has been stirred with a stick. It made me angry, but it didn't help things to get mad. There was nothing I could do but try to recover in time to start over. Giving up wasn't an option.
I walk to my locker as the bell rang indicating the end of the school day. I was pushed and shoved throughout the day, but by now, I didn’t care. I was done.
I can remember this night just like it was yesterday. It was a hot, humid Saturday night, in July, after my fifth grade year. It was two weeks after my birthday, which is June twenty-third. I had just got a new pair of skates. I didn’t think anything about checking the wheels on my skates or how loose they were or even if I could actually skate with them because I didn't have wooden floors at the times so If I skated it would have to be on the road, but that messes up the wheels, so I just waited for the day I came back skating to try them out. I’ve been skating since I was four, so wearing new skates isn’t going to be like a new day with new feet, well at least that’s what I thought. It was gonna be perfect, I was going
I walk past the secretaries’ desks and I can feel their eyes shaming me. As I approach the principal’s office, I hear his gruff voice through the doorway. “Well, I apologize for this inconvenience, Miss Taylor. You are free to return to class.”
I walked down the hall of Raymond Academy. I walked down until Faith grabbed me by the arm. I spun around and she dragged me into the nearest room. "What is going on?" I asked when she closed the door. "So? Are you going to tell me where this came from." She asked holding an envelope up. " Niro, what is that?" My voice sounded tired and confused.
Nora loves her husband very much, even to the point of idolizing him. As she first enters the home with the Christmas packag...
I was always an active person from being in sports to hanging out with friends. I always had something planned, or came up with something on the fly. My junior year in high school was a very tough time for me. I was involved in a lot of activities, organizations, and clubs. I was very active in one organization where I had to be up at school every morning at 7:15 for that meeting. Meaning I would not leave school sometimes until 6:45 to 7:00 in the evening. On the weekends I would have something to do either with friends or family. I would never go a weekend with nothing to do. Either I was out running errands or at the mall buying some new clothes.
I felt a rush of excitement after being called to the office to leave, as any high schooler would, but this time seemed different. I felt sick as I collected my things and started my way to the office. Walking in, I saw the secretary standing behind her desk with a distressed look on her face. It became clear that something was horribly wrong. As I approached her, she informed me that something had happened to my grandpa and that I would get picked up shortly to be taken to the hospital.
It is my first day actually going to a school at all, so I want to look nice and get there on time. I’m stressing out. What if the kids there hate me? What if they talk about me? What if I show up late to class? I end up arriving at school right on time. As I walk into class I see the girl from across the street at her desk reading book. She hears my footsteps drawing near and looks up to say hey. Instead she says “Hey, I forgot to say my name is Chloe.” “Hi and my name is Kaylee.” We both jump, because we hear a voice coming from the front of the classroom. I sit in the seat closest to Chloe and everyone grabs their notebooks except for me. I don’t know what I’m doing. The rest of the day Chloe has to be late to her classes, because she has to guide me to my next
“Mom I’m going to the store to get school supplies!” I say as I walk through the kitchen to the front door. As I am about to touch the doorknob, my mom comes behind me.
"I think I'm going to ride my new bike instead." "Ok." "I'm sorry dad, I know you want to walk with me, but today I want to ride my new bike." "It's ok darling, because I bought a bike for me and your mom." "Do you want to ride your bike with me to school?" "Yes darling, your mom is coming along."
“Hopppeee,”Grace beckoned. My high school sister’s voice carried through the open screen door of our house. Even though we went to different schools, we left at the same time. My mother never trusted me to make it to my fourth grade classroom on my own, so, she left that job to my sister. In return, she got an extra dollar on her allowance each week! I am nine years old, thank you very much! There is no need to babysit me on the way to school. I know very well, not to be attracted when someone calls, “free candy,” and pulls up in a white van. Either way, mom said I have to be walked, so, there we are every day, walking, side by side, to Lincoln Elementary. But still, she is getting paid. Grace could be a bit more patient with a little weakling, like me. “Come on sis! It’s time to get to school, now!” She called again. I was about to add the line from the movie, Alice in Wonderland, “We’re late! We’re late, for a very important date!” sung by the rabbit. However, something told me that it would not have such a great turn out for me, so, the wonderful reference was locked inside my brain to use for a different time.
