I tend to be analytical, as previously mentioned, and supportive of others. Upholding high principles of morality and ethics have made me flourish as I have a lot of empathy towards the needy.
Religion has always been confusing for me when regarding myself and my family. Everyone around me had their own or didn’t have one at all. My grandparents were catholic and taught their six kids in a catholic mindset. All my aunts and uncles got baptized, went to church every Sunday, and read the bible. Once they got older they stopped going though. I don’t think any of them even stills believes in god anymore. Then there’s my sister, Julie, who was raised catholic in her younger years. Her grandparents would take her to church and Sunday school and even wanted to get her baptized as a baby. My mom said no though so she wasn’t. When Julie was in Elementary School her grandmother sent her to a religious camp. I didn’t have to go though because
I move from place to place and act as I think others want me to act
I had to go back to my country and come back to campus really feel the change I went through during the first year in college. I had to observe and interact with the first years to perceive the similarities between them and my old self, to see how I have changed and the extent to which humans are all alike. We might face the same struggles, but the ways we deal with them vary from person to person. I will try to tell my version of growing up in Lafayette.
I am a very caring person and I show it my actions. I go out of my way to help others whenever I can. I am respectful to everyone, especially people who are superior to me. When someone is having a bad day, I always try to crack a joke to put a smile on their face. I love to make people laugh, even if it means making myself look like a fool.

I like all colors, chocolate, fruit, board games, card games, and almost any type of soda. I enjoy taking nature trail walks with my iPod or with my friends. I love the weather in the fall, where it is not too hot or too cold. I also like to play sports for fun, especially football, gymnastics, soccer, and basketball. I am an Auburn football fan, but I really don’t know which football team I like best. Most of the time, I just like the team that wins. I do care about my hygiene and well being, as well as everybody else’s. I like things being neat and clean so that I don’t get sick or get looked down upon for not being clean.
My home nurse comes up into my isolated bedroom; she shakes the bed to find the medication for my 2 o'clock pill. She looks around a bit confused although she removes my blanket. I look around in suspense as well. She takes the bottle which is almost finished and brings it downstairs for the check-in. However, when Leslie returns, pills seem to have been removed. I look at her knowing she took some for personal sales, yet that’s our secret. My husband, Liam, walks into the room as she slips the illegal money beneath my leg and he seems confused. He walks toward us slowly as my nurse slips out.
For six years, I lived down the street from the largest counterfeit Euro factory in Europe. The soccer team I played on would often have friendly games in Secondigliano, the heroin capital of the world. Several friends of mine knew people who had been “disappeared” and subsequently replaced by the Mafia. Needless to say, growing up in Naples, Italy, where crime is rampant and silence is bought, was tough. I remember being hooked on the Wired two-part saga, “The Rise and Fall of Silk Road,” a profile of a young drug lord. Reading about a grimy, drug-ridden world of crime similar to the one I grew up down the street from was a turning point in my life. I was captivated by the nuanced, powerful narrative, and have been engrossed with Wired’s storytelling ever since.
I always strive to be a supportive person and to understand everyone sides. I will stand with others, when I believe they are right, and through any hardships they are facing I won't stop being a good friend. I never judge, because I wouldn't want anyone to judge me, based on their first impression of me. I do best to make sure that people around me, feel like they have a friend, that they can talk to me anytime they feel like it. I don't like to pressure people, because I believe everyone has their own issues, and when they are ready, they will confide in me.
This summer, I spent five life changing weeks in Quebec City with the Explore Program. I stayed on campus at Université Laval, attended french classes each weekday, and explored Quebec City in my spare time. For the entire five weeks, I was to speak nothing but french in order to immerse myself in the language. At first, it was intimidating being in a completely different environment from my home and speaking a language I barely knew, but the experience turned out to be amazing. I used to be a very shy person, avoiding anything I was not entirely comfortable with, and I was a little worried about going off to university. But this program has taught me to embrace new experiences and challenges because the outcome is feeling self fulfilled in the end. I now cannot wait to go to university and live on my own, take care of myself, and be surrounded with new people because I know that living on my own is fun, taking care of myself is simply life, and new people are friendship
The night way cold and rainy, no moon was present. As people walked down the street never once looking up, eyes glued to their phones with an infinite amount of apps, infinite wasted time. The buildings were tall, concrete on the north side of the city, offices and high rises for business men and the wealthy. To the south were old brick buildings, a historic downtown from the original city, narrow streets and no stop lights. The contrast was incredible, in the north was the present, in the south was like something out of a Noir film. I am an interesting, fun loving guy with a good sense of humor. One thing about me that is important to know though is that at first I come of as a very shy individualistic guy but once I get to know people and are comfortable with my environment I am great. It is hard for me to make friends but once I make them, it’s great and I am all different. I joke, laugh and humor people and I also get as much as I give. I am a very kind, compassionate, sensitive guy as my close friends will tell you. I have a tough shell but on the inside I am soft. I am also a very principled person and stand strong on what is right and wrong. I am also a very straight and honest person. I understand and know that we all put on a show sometimes and do not show who we really are or what we feel but some people do this constantly and those kinds of people I cannot stand.
