Many people have interesting stories of where they come from. Some may find mine to be just that, and others may not. I was born to a middle class family in San Jose. My family has never been exceedingly wealthy, nor have we ever been poor. My parents were well educated, and have degrees to prove their education. My father has worked was a thermodynamic engineer for his entire post college career, and my mother never went to work in her field. One aspect of my family that begins to diversify us is that we are a family of Christians. My parents have always taken their faith seriously, and so it inspired me to do the same.
The faith that I have, and my parents’ example, have both had a large impact on who I am today. Both of these factors aided in choosing a school for me when we moved to the Antelope
Valley. I stayed with Desert Christian Schools from second grade up until I graduated high school. I enjoyed learning there because the school was an environment where everybody knew everybody, and I liked that because I got along with most students there. An aspect of Desert

American Studies, learning about immigration, language differences, and other problems facing
Mexican culture, will interest me. Mexican culture is seen throughout California, so application of the information I will gain will be possible regularly.
I am a simple person, who came from a simple background. I like to have fun, I learn, and have insecurities just like everyone else. I am not perfect by any standard. I mess things up, am awkward, and can sometimes be offensive. The only thing that sets me apart is that I follow
Christ. Everything that is good in me comes from Christ, weirdly as that sounds.
