The fight to prove extraterrestrial life has been going on for decades and, although, it has been thought of as a thing in the pass, the debate continues to stay relevant to this day. Those who believe in aliens are often written off as “nut jobs” or “conspiracy theorists” though there are a fair share of those in most beliefs there are also some well respected names who believe in the existence of aliens, Ronald Reagan, Jimmy Carter, Richard Nixon, and Prof Stephen Hawking (IBT 2). There have been countless reports of alien sightings, findings that will be untold because the government believes it citizens can’t handle the possible truth behind the existence of aliens. There have been those who have witnessed UFO’s or other types of proof of alien life forms but have been forced to keep their mouths shut in fear of harm coming to them or their families. It was 1947 when the first documented UFO sightings started and kept evolving for years to come. The belief of alien’s existence first adapted in America and then moved across the world (Cohen 11). In fact, it seems more farfetched to believe were the only ones out here in this endless void of time and space, then to believe there could be one planet out there other than earth to be inhabited with life. The lack of evidence to disprove aliens is evidence to prove aliens exist. Believing in aliens is not only the rational choice, but the educated choice. Living in denial of aliens is going to get society nowhere. I don’t propose we teach are schools that aliens are 100% fact or that we need to start stocking up on dried tomato cans for our bomb shelter. Instead, we treat evidence and sightings more as possibilities then fiction. We need to open our minds to extraterrestrial life and peruse the discoveries that are out there to prove its
