As a member of Congress, I feel very strongly about the United States entering World War II. Initially, I did not want America to enter the war, but after hearing Roosevelt’s speech “A Date Which Will Live in Infamy” my mind has changed drastically. Roosevelt discussed in his speech how Japan had attacked many locations in the Pacific, such as Wake Island, Guam, and the Philippine Islands. Japan also attacked Pearl Harbor, Malaya, and Hong Kong. It was concluded that Japan had planned the attack in advance since it is a great distance from Japan to Hawaii. At this point in time, my primary concern is the attack at Pearl Harbor.
