Becoming a successful leader throughout this journey has provided a progress of keeping an open mind in wanting to help the community, and organization to thrive in this changing world and identifying different strengths and blind spots at the same time. I have experienced many several touch points that have influenced my perspective on leadership and have more courage to become an overall person in adaptive leadership. With specific leadership skills, many groups will all have something in common, with that in mind leadership requires specific concepts to have a purpose and work skillfully together. With having ancestors and aunts, a sister, and a mother and a father to look up too has become a very blessed adaptation and learning experience till this day on. With tying that in with the semester of this course and learning adaptive leadership has become a various set of thriving and tackling challenges to get things done to where I need to be in the future. I have experienced my role as a leader as a person who puts things into action for a vision for my future and motivates me to work hard. “Adaptive leadership is specifically about change that enables the capacity to thrive and engage in new strategies and abilities to achieve set dreams.” (Heifetz, Grashow, Linsky, pg. 14). Along the way with my pathway it has been the sanctuary to thrive that has been the greatest influence on to where I am now and thinking of ways to overcome obstacles in the future. By maintaining better communication skills and develop better listening skills. By challenging myself and improving my skills that I need to work on, will help me become an overall compassionate leader to enhance my development skills and growth cycle to leading me in my career. Taking the time to evaluate myself throughout the course has provided me with a deeper understanding of adaptive leadership that I didn’t know of before the course. There were skills that I needed to improve on with my distraction skills and getting to focus more into my schoolwork, to improve to become more of an effective leader. Taking the time to develop those skills and making me grow into exceeding the authority through leadership, has engaged the challenges, and reflecting back to speak from the heart to inspire people, and that is my goal in life, to inspire myself and others around
