World War II was described as the bloodiest, deadliest war that the world had ever seen. Over 38 million people lost their lives, mostly innocent civilians. The war was also the most destructive war in history and which took place in over 50 nations. For Americans, World War II had a clear-cut objective. Americans knew why they were fighting: to defeat tyranny. Nazi Germany had conquered major parts of Europe (was under the iron grip of Dictator Adolf Hitler) . America’s role in 1877 During this period, America was experiencing tremendous growth and which led to industrial, commercial and agricultural development. Due to this, it exported some of its goods to other nations plus some technological know-how to other countries so that they The Lend-Lease gave powers to the president to transfer weapons or any other defence items for which Congress appropriated funds to “the government of any country whose security the President deems vital to the protection of the United States.” By allowing the transfer of supplies without compensation to China, Britain, the Soviet Union and other countries, the act permitted America to boost its war interests without getting overextended in war. Since 1939, Britain had been engaging in some fights with the Germany at sea land, and in the air. As a result of this war, Britain’s reserves of currency and gold were depleted and were facing the threat of being defeated by the Germans. The Lend-Lease Act did come in handy for Britain since it becomes well equipped to meet the aggressiveness of the Germans (Nazi-German expansion). Even though the Second World War offered a great challenge, the Lend-Lease program was so helpful and which overcame all the challenges The threat posed by the war had spurred Congress and President Roosevelt to approve the nation 's first peacetime military draft. As of December 1941, America 's military force had risen to reach about 2.2 million soldiers, sailors, airmen, and marines. The majority of the America 's military forces comprised mainly "citizen soldiers", men and women drawn from civilian life. The military force came from all the state in the country and all economic and social strata. The majority, about 10 million of the soldiers, entered the military through the draft. The draftees were assigned to the army. By 1942, America’s military base grew to 36 million. Their military force was sent to aid other allies of America while other were kept at standby and who would later act as reinforcement for those who were already on the battlefield
