Throughout recorded history the gender system have always been men are the head of household and have the last say yet, women have to remain humble while lowering herself to obey their husbands. Women are superior to men because they had to follow specific rules to be the "ideal women" while some will follow the guidelines and can contain an intellectual mentality from her parents or find another way. For instance, Ban Zhao a Chinese woman who was an unofficial scholarly imperial historian and the way Zhao became such a educational person from her parents.1 Prior to that Zhao had a husband she catered to and followed the customs all females must comply with to not disrespect her ancestors.

For example, a story called Savatri and The God of Death is about a wife who follows God of Death for so long until he sets her husband free.3 The point of the story is to show women how devotion they have to be and that gives me the viewpoint that cultures that use religion more treat women worse.
In conclusion, in the classical period there was customs and traditions that men are and will have always be considered the better gender when really with evidence in the background women are. The difference India and China is Indian women have a more extreme way of making men the head of household than China. Women had to be nurturing, have great manners, appear weak, and etc, but having that while learning educationally on the side is better than learning only one
