We all have been grown up into different types of cultures, communities, and backgrounds. On September 20th I interviewed Crystal Keshawarz to get to know her culture and knowledge on culture. We mostly focused on religion and how she was grown up, her life was never an easy life. She always thought so much differently from others and it changed her perception on how women should be outspoken and . As the interview went on, I became more interested and well known about the culture aspects of her life. The three most important topics that I focused on in the interview was the perception of the self and others, communication and culture, and language and verbal communication. In the interview I began with kind of a difficult question to kind
Language has a lot to do with culture due to the fact that’s how we all communicate. When I had asked Crystal “What do you think the power of language is?” Her response was “language is an ultimate power, without it we can’t convey our emotions. Without it we are unable to build a community filled with people from everywhere.” Which I believe is true because how would we be living the lives that we are living if we didn’t get the chance to all communicate with each other. Which then lead to my next question which was “what are some ways that language helps communicate with people from different cultures?” What I mean by this question is that many people who come to this country all speak different languages unless you come from England because they all speak english there, but if you come from the middle east, asia, or spanish countries you’re most likely to speak the language that is from your country, so when you come to America you begin to learn english to communicate and speak to the people whom want to make something out of the place you live. Crystals response to the question was “I believe that it provides context for what you mean to convey. It express emotions and being able to share your history. Also being able to establish a cultural legacy.” Which was similar to my thoughts but I bit different because of how we picture things. Being the fact that she looks at the small details of certain things, whereas I look at the whole
