The satisfaction toward security on campus is conceptualized as the feeling, thoughts and experience regarding to the security system in the campus. Some student still cooking by themselves inside their own room at the campus and this kind of situation make the students feel unsecured. According to University of Minnesota (2015), said that campus apartment still there was a small unintentional grease fire caused by cooking. As regards its educational use, the learners feeling, thought, perception and experience toward the object are quite significant. Security guard was different with each other. Some of the security guard will be honest, serious and strict when they are on duty. At the same time, there also some of them who always take easy about their own responsibility to secured all of the campus inside the university. Some of security who did not have any experience cause trouble to the security system on the campus. They are not strict when they perform their duty especially when they allowed the students' car that did not have the sticker on it can easily drove their car without stopped by the security sometimes. Certain security did not have any experience and they will start with zero and when there is no one care to show, guide him to work, then the security guard tend to relax and done nothing. They will allowed any visitors to drive their car to the campus without asking what is the purposes of the visitors come to the campus. The system used inside the campus make the student not satisfied. Many students complain that their hand phone, android, tab, money and laptop missing inside the campus especially at College Cempaka. It was found out that cases are underreported that caused flaws in the research. However, in the study, issues such as behaviour of the student victims, to whom the cases are reported and reasons of not reporting on-campus victimization are looked into by the researchers. This chapter will contain a review of the literature pertaining to school safety that includes the following components: recent history of school safety issues, prison effect of school safety plans, keyless entry systems, and vandalizing and theft.
...e Dean than to report to the police. A police report and a trail take time and one 's rapist could still be walking around campus. But if one reports the the Dean, there s a small and private judiciary process to get the rapist at least removed from one 's classes if any are shared. Perhaps this will make victims more aware that although it might take longer and be harder, reporting to the police may be a better route. Then the rapist will hopefully and up in jail, making the victim feel safe. Maybe this trail will also make people more aware of sexual assault and how it can be stopped. In my research paper I want to continue to look into sexual assault stories, its potential causes, more statistics, and what we can do to decrease the amount of sexual assaults on college campuses. Hopefully, if anything substantial is found, it can be integrated into SIU’s policies.
In today's school system, there have been uproars about the student's privacy and safety at the schoolhouse. Some parents feel that their child's safety is more important because of the rules that the school has set forth to maintain a safe environment. Others feel that their child's privacy should be taken seriously because they should be treated more like an adult. In recent news, there has been concerns about the student's safety that cause some to get injured or killed; while, student's privacy has cause the police to get involved. The school system should be concerned as well as, aware about the student’s privacy and safety at their prospective school.
After watching a documentary on Netflix called, “ The Hunting Ground” it explored on the sexual assaults on campuses, but college officials tends to cover up the crimes. Usually, the person who sexual assaults you is from somebody that you know, a person who may have classes with, or somebody you just met. More than 16% of college women are sexually assaulted while in college. 88% of women sexually assaulted on campus do not report. College officials tend to cover up the crimes because they do not want the college to have a bad reputation, so they don’t help the individuals who were sexually assaulted and let the perpetrator be set free. Which these perpetrator repeat their crimes.
Del Carmen (2000) suggests that in addition to studying how students feel about crime on campus, researchers should examine how safe faculty members feel on campus. While fear of crime on campus among students is emerging as a significant area of research, little, if any, research has been done on faculty members’ perception of their campus. In this study, it is clear that perception of risk is a key factor in fear of crime on campus. However, further research could be developed to explain what factors are shaping students’ perceived risk of victimization on university campuses

With the increased security alerts nationwide, caution is exercised in all circumstances and a bit of the anxiety and security alerts have spread to American colleges as well.

Studies show that 1 in 16 men will be sexually assaulted while in college, and these studies have also shown that 1 in 5 women will be sexually assaulted while in college. These ratios may not even be entirely accurate, as studies also show that 90% of all rape cases go unreported by their victims. Studies have also shown that 65% of the self reported sexual violators have had multiple victims in the past. According to a report done by CNN a survey of 150,000 students across 27 Universities participated in a survey whose focus was to college information on students that have been sexually harassed, assaulted, or raped. And the consensus was that 23% of these students have been sexually assaulted to some degree. 50% of students who have later reported these incidents commented that they didn’t report the incident sooner because they didn’t believe that it was “serious enough.” These numbers are startling, and they show that sexual assault is a real danger to the student populations of our nation’s campuses.
Is getting rid of the gun-free zones on college campuses the smart thing to do? allowing students with a proper license, to carry a loaded gun around with them. The issue of school safety has become a controversial topic in the United States, due to tragic acts of violence occurring on a daily basis. American citizens should never have to cope with the negative impact of school violence, no matter how often they hear about the tragedies (Jones, "Parents" 1). In the past, schools were viewed as a safe place for children to get an education. Recently, the concern over violence in schools has taken a toll on many parents, school administrators, and legislatures (Eckland 1). Studies have shown that there are over 3 million acts of violence in American public schools each year. Not all occurrences are serious and deadly, but they occur on a daily basis throughout our country (Jones, “School” 6). This has caused many parents to worry about the well-being of their children while they are in class. This has also led to an increase in questions and concerns by parents and guardians. Many people have asked, “What are you doing about safety and security on my child’s campus” (Schimke 2). School violence is the cause of elevated worry and fear for their children, and school districts should enforce better security.
