Back in the days a lot of people suffered from being mistreated and having no freedom. Civil disobedience is the active professed refusal to obey certain laws, demand s or commands of a government or of an occupying international power. Some say violent revolution make for a more effective means of gaining liberty and equality. Other says civil disobedience makes for a more effective means of gaining liberty and equality. I believe that civil disobedience makes for a more effective means of gaining liberty and equality because it causes no war/violence and lets you gain liberty equally.

There are many reasons why civil disobedience makes for a more effective means of gaining liberty and equality. One reason why civil disobedience makes for a more effective means of gaining liberty and equality is that it causes no war/violence. According to the primary source from document #1 there's an excerpt from Nelson Mandela's book "Long walk to freedom". In here Nelson Mandela and the South African president discussed the issue of sanctions. Nelson, and the president try to solve the problem without any war/violence. In the same document it stated "While we were mindful of what Mr. De Klerk had done in our views sanctions remained the best lever to force him to do more...I explained to Mr. De Klerk, we could not tell our supporters to relax sanctions until he had completely dismantled apartheid and a transitional government was in place". According to another primary source in document #3 it gives you a letter that Gandhi wrote before marching to the sea and breaking the English Salt Tax Law. Civil disobedience has been proven to be a more effective means of gaining liberty and equality. Although this has been scientifically proven, some still believe otherwise. Some people say that violent revolution makes for a more effective means of gaining liberty and equality. I believe that Civil disobedience makes for a more effective means of gaining liberty and equality, because it causes no violence/war and it lets you gain liberty equally. Civil disobedience doesn't harm anyone or destroy anything, instead it solves the problem without any forcing or fighting! Which would you rather do fight to get something or just convince someone without violence to get it and get that specific thing? Convincing is a better choice when you get the same thing in both ways but in a positive way.
