A tornado is a mobile vortex of violent and very destructive rotating winds that advance in the wind. Tornadoes are just all around very interesting, with all the shows and images of devastating tornadoes they have gotten a large bite in many peoples curiosity . There have been many experiments and many scientists working around the clock to learn about the tornado.

They are mostly found under large storm systems. The clouds in the systems occasionally turn into funnel clouds from the winds hitting the cloud and then it starts to twist. This is why tornadoes have a huge cloud above them.A tornado is a mobile vortex of violent and very destructive rotating winds that advance in the wind. It is important to know about this topic because like I mention they affect the world greatly. If we didn’t know about them we would have a much harder time finding out where they are likely to be and to be ready for a strong tornado during a large storm.

I chose this topic because it has always been very interesting to me. I was thinking about picking wind but I felt like my project would end up better if I focused more on one certain thing rather than a more broad and open ended project like wind.

...proot trees while killing animals which is a devastating combo because if its big enough it can take down whole ecosystems. As you can imagine that would be devastating to lose a whole ecosystem from a large enough tornado. They can also take out man made buildings, and while new things are being developed to give us warning systems. We still can not pinpoint when exact tornadoes will happen. As you can probably tell by now tornadoes are very destructive.

Warm wet air meets cold dry air and they start to twist and chase each other faster and faster each time until they twist the cloud enough until it touches the ground causing a tornado. Tornadoes are measured on the fujita scale. The fujita scale bases wind speeds off of how much damage has been done. The scale has ratings based on F’s. F0 has a wind speed of up to 72 mph while a F5 has wind speeds of over 300 mph.
