The Star Wars Trilogy always have one thing that is stated: the Force. The Force is an unlimited power that is in every living objects. As exciting as that sounds, the idea of the Force has been created out of many religions. The idea of the Force came from different religion such as: Taoism, Hinduism, Buddhism, and Christianity
Taoism is related in the Force because the Force was viewed as energy around everything. When Obi-Wan told Luke that he should let go of his sight and follow the instincts to guard the blaster. Luke utilized his instincts to follow the energy around him and was able to guard the blaster. This suggests that Taoism is in the Force because when Luke used his instincts it revealed concepts of Taoism called Wu Wei. Wu Wei is the concept of following the way instead of thinking. This idea is also in the Force when Luke relied on his instincts to shoot the Death Star instead of using his aiming mechanics. Another example revealing that Taoism is an idea in the Force is when Qui-Gon mentioned that there was no accidents that happens. When nothing is an accident, it suggests that everything that happens for a reason. This leads to Taoism in where people should let nature take its course and follow through. The Force revealed Taoism when Luke was training with Yoda. Yoda had told Luke to do or do not. He said do not try. This reveals Taoism because instead of trying, Luke must do it without thinking. The Force contains the concept of Wu Wei from Taoism. It is when people let go of their surroundings and that is when they will be able to feel other living energies. This is the concept the Force has obtained from Taoism. Not only is Taoism in the Force, Hinduism is also utilized in the idea of the Force.

...ng and meaningful. The Force not only provided many evidence for religion, it also provided a way to most religion into one. The religions were from different places as well as different time. To create one concept out of a few religions reveals how different religions may not be as different as implied. Overall, the Force revealed that many religion are not as different from each other.

Philosophy is a complicated subject. Since the beginning of human existence, many tried to come up with theories about life, happiness, reality and knowledge. From philosophical ideas different beliefs sprung, and existence of different religions followed. Every theory raised by a philosopher attracted different followers. In today's modern society aside from major religions, there are thousands of others that suggest that their explanations to universal questions are the only accurate ones, and all of these religions seek to gain more followers to join their "way". One of these religions is the religion/philosophy of Taoism. Taoism has it roots in China, where the founder of Taoism Lao-Tse was searching for a way that would avoid the constant feudal warfare and other conflicts that disrupted his society during his lifetime. The result was his book: Tao-te-Ching. Lao-Tse described Taoism as a path or a way which one must follow in order to reach inner serenity and peace. In order to reach these inner goals one must live in harmony with nature and natural process that creates the balance in the universe.

“Luke I am you’re father,” (Darth Vader, 1880). This is one of the most significant and iconic lines in movie making history, particularly for fans of the beloved Star Wars Saga made by George Lucas Inc. But the Jedi’s in the movies and the Jedi’s that follow the quickly emerging religion of Jediism are on two different wave lengths. According to the last Census of the United Kingdom in 2001 nearly four hundred thousand people claimed to follow Jediism. This established Jediism as a religion in the United Kingdom and also helped Jediism become recognized as the fourth largest religion, with more followers than Judaism or Buddhism (Bryan, 2011). Even with so many followers, Jedi’s are being criticized greatly because of the religion that they are following. When being told that someone is a Jedi one’s mind might automatically flash through visions of Darth Vader and lightsaber battles. But what a lot of people are not aware of is that Jediism dates back thousands of years before the Star Wars Saga made it famous.
Taoism follows a much different idea of the "chain of being," than that of the other major religions (i.e. Hinduism, Judeo-Christian, Islam), which is very important in consideration of the ecological sensibility which stems from it. As opposed to a God-over-man-over-nature view of the world, Taoism states:
The third and final prequel to George Lucas's Star Wars trilogy Revenge of the Sith is the midpoint of the Star Wars saga. It is the climax of the Star Wars prequels and leads magnificently and flawlessly into the completion of the original trilogy. The original trilogy led up to a happy ending complete with fireworks and scenes of different planets celebrating. The prequels tell a similar hero's journey, but instead of an affirming story about believing in oneself, it is a dire warning about the dangers of arrogance and greed. We are reminded of human valves fear, hatred, greed, pride and "a failure to listen" which lead to the Dark Side. Compassion, love, and non-violence are the real way to peace and justice. I believe this form of storytelling captures the audience which makes the story memorable to the fans and in my opinion this was a successful combination. The following paragraphs will approach the narrative, similarities by comparing the original trilogy with the new trilogy and analysing the key elements of mise en scene used in particular scenes in the film. By doing this, I will discover how the position, colour and framing expresses the message George Lucas wants the viewers to absorb and remember.
The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring. The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring, by J.R.R. Tolkien, is the first book in the fantasy-based trilogy of the Lord of the Rings. The book begins with Bilbo Baggins celebrating his one hundred and eleventh birthday. After his party, he then decides to leave everything behind and join a Fellowship, which has a task of destroying the ruling ring, which will give supreme power to whoever has possession of it.
'The broken globe'; by Henry Kreisel tells the story of a father and a son torn apart by their differing views of the world. Another story which I feel parallels this story in certain aspects is the 1977 classic 'Star Wars'; by George Lucas. In Star Wars, Luke Skywalker, a young farmboy on a backwater world, receives a lightsabre from Obi Wan Kenobi, this inspires an urge to leave his world and learn to be a Jedi. One of the conflicts Luke must face is his Uncle Owen who wishes him to stay on his world and be a farmer. When Luke finally does leave he becomes very successful.
Despite being one of the highest grossing film franchises of all time, The Twilight Saga movies were known more so for the quality of their soundtracks, rather than the actual quality of the films. Whilst I enjoyed the books (written by Stephanie Meyer), I felt that the films didn’t really live up to my expectations. In fact, they were terrible if I have to be honest. The soundtracks on the other hand, exceeded them. Here, I’ve put together my top ten favourite songs from the five movies that made up the series. The story starts with the 33rd birthday-party for Frodo Baggans, and the 111th birthday party for Bilbo Baggans, Hobbits who live in a mythical land called the Shire. Frodo’s best friend is his gardner Sam. Frodo owns a magic Ring which makes him invisible when he wears it, a gift from his cousin Bilbo who stole it from Gollum years ago.
In Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope (1977), the force theme is a melody that emerges as a representation of various characters involved in the rebellion against the Empire. The theme takes two main forms: heroically militaristic, and soft and heartbroken, augmenting the emotion of the scene. Both variations have a rising-and-falling melody and a momentary major chord that inspires hope before again descending into despair. This melody becomes a manifestation of the strenuous battle against the Empire, and delivers the story of the Rebels’ efforts of resistance. Star Wars: The Force Awakens is much like a moral tale due to, that the movie shows the principles of right and wrong. Which conforms the standards of behaviours and the characters on those principles. Some characters are non-human (by our standards) which could be loosely perceived as talking animals, another common theme among moral tales. The movie also teaches morals that are imbedded psychologically which every watcher can understand in their own way. Morals are different in different ways in every person which is what makes Star Wars: The Force Awakens a fairly great moral tale since almost any viewer can relate in some shape or form to the movie and its characters.
According to legendary boxer Sugar Ray Robinson, “To be a champ, you will have to believe in yourself when no one else will.” The importance of believing in oneself is illustrated in George Lucas’s Star Wars IV – A New Hope in which Luke Skywalker, a tentative teenager, is thrust into a new life of adventure and self-cultivation after stumbling upon a plea for help in the form of a message embedded in a droid he purchased named R2D2. To that effect, when analyzing George Lucas’s film from a Jungian perspective, Luke’s individuation becomes apparent through his development from a self-doubting and indecisive teenager into a decisive leader capable of channeling the power of the “force.” Luke’s attainment of higher consciousness is showcased
J.R.R. Tolkien's concept of too much power is summed up by Lord Acton when he once said, "Power corrupts, but absolute power corrupts absolutely." In Tolkien's first book of his fantasy based trilogy, Lord of the Rings, the Fellowship of the Rings tells a story of a quest to destroy a powerful ring throughout Tolkien's created "Middle Earth". This quest was headed by a "Hobbit" named Frodo Baggins who, in the end, becomes corrupted by power himself. This corruption begins when Frodo uses his ring to become invisible over and over again to escape certain situations. The quest to destroy the powerful "Ruling Ring" forms the basis for this story.
“May the Force be with you” is a phrase that has stuck in the minds of a whole generation, as a lasting impression of a film that has influenced many. Star Wars is one of the best conceptual films of all time, and it gave way for future films to experiment with film techniques that have never been done before. Star Wars gave me a sense of involvement with the film, because the camera angles immersed the viewer in the film and gave them an interactive experience. In my mind Star Wars is arguably the best film of all time, because of the next generation techniques used such as special effects, and the way the film makes you feel while viewing it.
