The United States a powerful nation on the global scale, but millions of its inhabitants live in poverty and face widespread inequalities. People from various backgrounds have in the past agreed on the widespread existence of poverty and inequality, especially in the United States. Poverty and inequality are serious matters that need to be assessed critically to find ways on how to reduce their extent, and resultant effects. People have stereotyped poverty substantively, and divergent attitudes crowd the discussions regarding poverty.
