Marshal Bruce Mathers III who is also know as Eminem was born with great talent and determination. He faced many challenges in his life but his determination and commitment lead him to success. Eminem's life as a child wasn't easy since his father abandoned him when he was six months old. He lived with an abusive mother who never supported him and considered him as a worthless human being. According to Han Eysencks. Eminem would be categorized as extroverted because he was very active and energized. He loved to talk with people and express his feelings. He had great talent and wanted to show the world that he can rise to the top. Eminem became to be the king of rap and also a great actor. Eminem faced some difficulties throughout his life but he didn't let his problems stand in his way. The psychoanalytic approach states that all people have inner struggles and that's what Eminem had to overcome to fulfill his dreams. Freud's concept of the id, ego, superego showed that Eminem's id seemed to control his life. His ego also used defense mechanisms to try to avoid Eminem realizing his problems. According to Carl Jung, Eminem had a persona. He had dreams that sometimes separated him from reality. Eminem would have spent the rest of lis life in jail. Eminem was shocked that Kim was able to fool him. How could he be able to trust someone after that? I guess a person becomes gullible when they trust too much and heartbroken when that trust is gone. (Westerfil, 2012) In conclusion, I don't think Eminem has reached self actualization because not all of his needs were met. He has had some neurotic trends as well due to the fact that he lacked love and support from his parents. He was isolated and lonely at times which brought him anxiety. All of the theories mentioned above have been able to relate to Eminem's life and characterize certain behaviors and motives.
