Ceramics Introduction If you had a look around yourself you will find many things around you that are made out from Ceramics. Recently Ceramics is included in manufacturing in many products due to its unique properties and various applications and uses. Actually, ceramics are compounds that are made from both metallic and nonmetallic elements that has ionic bonds, and sometimes covalent. Furthermore, it is inorganic and nonmetallic material. Ceramics are not extracted from the ground like many other types of material. Mainly it is made up from clay. The process of making Ceramic is by continuous heating and cooling as it is inorganic and nonmetallic material. It could be made either by fusible block, which is transformed into a solid material after cooling under the effect of temperatures, or chemically under low temperatures. Ceramics Types Ceramic is divided into seven different types. Each types has its own and unique properties and uses. As we know, the natural resources of energy that are nonrenewable are limited which mean that the human consumption of this resources exceed the average of its renewal rate as it need millions of years to be renewed. This means that one day it may finish. And what makes recycling very useful is that the energy needed to recycle a material is always less than the energy needed to produce a new one.
