In today’s society, no single cause of body dissatisfaction or disordered eating exists. But, as research is becoming increasingly clear, it shows that the media and advertisements are the defiant causes and that the more media and advertisements displayed in the public increases body dissatisfaction and disordered eating. In conclusion, advertisements that deal with the body image of a certain individual should not exist. People should be able to decide whether or not if they should gain weight or lose it. Even though, some people may be at a weight that could be dangerous for them which is the purpose that this ad was created, I believe that as long as they are happy with what they are they should have to deal with constant advertisements that bluntly say what is consider “the perfect body” in today’s society. As Kilbourne stated in her essay, women are seen as sexual objects and not as human beings but, the truth is, every gender goes through some type of body shaming people just tend to look the other way when the situation doesn 't affect them directly.
