Daily life for Native Americans was full of responsibilities and expectations. These expectations were different between the men, women, and children. Though the men and women’s roles were different, their jobs often worked together to complete a process. For example, men had an important role in hunting and fishing for the family. However, it was the woman's responsibility to butcher and clean the animals, such as bison and fish, that the men killed during their hunt. Another example is the men were in charge of clearing fields to prepare for planting season, but it was the women who cared for the fields and plants, including completing the harvest. The women were in charge of caring for the family and the home life. It was up to the women to care and raise the children as well as make clothing for the entire family. In Nomad tribes, tribes that travelled to follow the animal herds, it was the woman’s job to take down, move, and set-up the house.
